His dreams of a nuclear free future, which is one of the reasons he was chosen for the Nobel award, will never happen, not in his life time or in any foreseeable life time. We (the decent people) all have these dreams of a future where there is no war, a dream where all people are one, in the eyes of their creator and are never divided by anything but the words we speak and the love of our families. We have all in our own small way pushed up and spoken and life has forced us back down. Obama received the blessing of a people who were looking for change and these people heard in him their voice, their thoughts and their love of the world and asked him to put words into actions. Can he do it? Can he fill the words of so many people with psychical action of an effort greater than lips pressed to a microphone?
Obama is a clear stream running to the Ocean from the highest peaks in the world, Small at first, gradually building to a river, somehow will the fire which started the stream still be in the river or will it all soak into this sandy river bed and become just a energy passing in time. Do we remember what the name of the first person to invent the wheel was, do we remember the name of the first person to make a iron spear head? will we remember this man who had a dream which carried the voices of so many. Is it only in media and print where his name will be, what will happen when print and media are no more?
We talk about saving the planet, but the planet is ok it is just Humans who need saving. The planet has been here for a Billion years and will be here for another billion or so, it is mans ability to live here which is at question and to do this we do need world peace without threat of war.
If Obama was smart he would have all weapons made, in locker rooms off the planet. All bio-chemical production is produced in outer space, where all prisons are places of rehabilitation and where all energy is life friendly. This will then make sure the planet is safe for all beings and life to share.
We have in our life time here have got to go through at least 2 more recessions over the next 15 years. I believe the next one will be in 2010-2011, which will be the fallout of this one after the sell off of Government assets. Who will buy the Government assets? Those countries with the most money, the Chinese, The Russians and the Indians.
2010/11 there will be an uprising in China when there will be greed and control, the Korens will seize the moment and head south, japan will have to defend itself and Russia will look to secure all assets from the ex Soviet block countries through the debt they owe for energy and protection deals. England will not have enough money to fund its army and America will have eaten out its food supply through bad food management. Africa will climb deeper into povity as it has never really come out of it and the drought in neibouring countries will force a population explosion.
America will be stretched to the bone and will have trouble supporting wars abroad, having to call all its troops home, Taliban will grow on depression and force countries like Canada and Australia to close its Borders.. we are not looking too good for the next few years. G.D.

All the pointers are that the US will be a ship without enough money to fuel the engines.... on a direct course into a iceberg field, Look for a huge asset sale to be announced by Pres Obama, then all the speeches and words will just be memories in the wind. G.D.

RUSSIA and China looked to steady their close but increasingly imbalanced relationship today when visiting Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin ushered through trade deals said to be worth $US 3.5 billion ($AU3.87 billion).
Putin's talks in Beijing with Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao are also likely to cover the international hotspots on which both governments share many views, especially concerning North Korea's nuclear weapons programme and its latest missile tests.
But with China's economy steaming ahead while Russia has lagged during the global downturn, the two big neighbours appear focused on shoring up trade, energy and political ties.
Russian and Chinese companies signed deals worth $3.5 billion, the second day of Putin's visit to Beijing, his deputy, Alexander Zhukov, said.
The Kremlin last week said the two sides would sign commercial deals worth $5.5 billion during Putin's visit.
"This is the revised number, the final figure," Zhukov said of the $3.5 billion figure, without explaining the discrepancy. "There will be no more commercial deals signed during the visit."
The deals included a $500 million loan from the Agricultural Bank of China to Russia's second biggest lender VTB.
Chinese and Russian news reports have said Putin and Wen may also unveil an agreement on securing Russian natural gas, but it was not clear whether the pact would bring any concrete progress on a deal that has been mired for more than three years amid disagreements over pricing.
When asked by reporters about the possibility of any gas deals being signed, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin said: "(Gazprom Chief Executive Alexei) Miller is here, he doesn't just travel around for the sake of it. Make your conclusions."
"We have plenty of gas, (we) will give as much as they need."
Behind Russia's eagerness for deals appear to be worries that the global financial crisis has left it struggling with a shrinking economy and trade while China is confident its GDP will grow 8 percent this year, consolidating its status as the world's third-biggest economy, said Bobo Lo, a senior research fellow at the Centre for European Reform in London.
Not looking good for the stability of the world. The US will be on tenderhooks with this deal...
The two Communist Superpowers hooking up as one. Combined defense force of over 500 million soldiers. China has Americas Industry by the balls, Russia has Europe by the balls with Gas supplies, minerals and coal. China controls the world Steel price and the manufacturing market. If you think that a nuclear free future will never happen, then it is plausible that the planet itself will not be here for another billion or so years.
Whose to say what will be?
I agree with you that to live on this planet WE ALL need to live with world peace and without threat of war. Have we evolved mentally and spiritually as a whole?

Who knows after the Nuclear by products clear away, Aliens may populate the planet again.... Maybe they already have a big hoover to suck out all the pollution...Then they will say, well that last lot were a bunch of losers, we won't try to mix them up like that again, Multiculturalism didn't work on that planet.
The planet is not the people.
The people will only destroy the rights to live here, by taking away what they were entrusted to protect if they wished to survive here.
The planet will still rotate around the sun, and in time it will rid itself of the past and a new era of the planet will endure...
Humans are like a huge colony of planet eating Giant acid spitting fire ants who breed like rabbits who sh** on every blade of grass like a dog with diarrhea.
Maybe it is a matter of blinking over into another dimension right here on earth. Ever tried that?
Climate change Tax will send over 1 million people bankrupt across the planet in 2012 if they come in, and I am sure they will. These people will turn to Religion as a comfort, and they will turn to alternative religions who prey on depression.. most will not recover.
