Morning hike in the desert

My husband & I went for a hike in the desert yesterday morning. We only hiked for about 75 minutes total, since it is still kind of warm here in Phoenix, and I hadn't been hiking in about 5 months.

We used to hike together at least once a week, but I was in PA. most of the summer visiting family & my husband just returned from a fellowship at Texas Tech University. My husband also had knee surgery in early June & wasn't able to hike for quite a while. He seems to be fully recovered, because the hike yesterday didn't cause him any pain.

We are pretty fortunate because we can hike all fall and winter here in Phoenix. Do you do much hiking where you live?

I would love to do more hiking but we don't have a lot of options here for it without driving somewhere, we have one park that has a small forest that is close by. There are are others but you need to do some good driving to get there, plus it is freezing out here.

There is a lot of hiking outside of Las Vegas, but I also had surgery and haven't been able to hike lately...

My husband and I plus Briar love to walk over in the woods by us. We try to go at least every weekend but it's been so wet lately, way to muddy for us. We even walk in the winter if the snow isn't to deep.

No..there really is no where to actually hike I wouldn't say..more like just taking a walk. It sounds like so much fun with those wonderful perfect temps you are having!

I do a lot of hiking. I am lucky because near where I live, there is a large natural park with a lot of trails. Other trails are also just a short drive away. Mountain and desert trails aren't that far, but usually require me to take a day off to get all the driving and hiking I want to do when I decide to go there.

I love hiking. We finally had a dry sunny day yesterday and I was so happy to get out and move around.

Sounds beautiful. We hike in the cooler months - spring and fall when weather providing.

We go to places usually in Sauk county since they have a lot of nice state park trails there.

I'm glad to hear that your hubby is well enough to hike now.
I used to love to hike, and would still, if not my EDS.
Glad you both enjoy this together. I hope you take enough water, as it is still quite warm for hiking that long.

Not much places for hiking here, but I love to go for walks, but it's been way to hot lately!!! I you and your husband were able to go hiking Pam, and his knee is not bothering him!

I wish I had a hiking buddy. I couldn't do much because of my back. I'm having surgery on it again Monday. But I would like to give it a go.

No, we used to. Haven't since I fell at Merrill Creek Reservoir. It kind of freaked me out when I fell.

I love to hike. I'm not in the best shape, but I do like hiking. This is the best time of year for hiking in San Antonio. Summer is way too hot. I'm sure it's a lot like Phoenix.
