Bob on the Road: Have Camera, Will Travel
It was darkly rumoured that Elizabeth E. (aka Ladybess aka Bob) from shivering New England had a camera, seven league boots and that she'd travel to sunny Australia. The rumour proved to be true. But who is this mysterious personage with so many names, fleeing from tea parties in Boston?
Although some might conjecture that she is a pocket human dynamo, I reckon that she is of the little people - one who somehow fell into a a hot-air balloon lifting off from Leprechaunia. Of course, stowaways are not welcome where there's so much hot air; and she was unceremoniously dive-bombed onto my doorstep when said Stuka balloon was delivering Leprechaunian bananas to the Perth Zoo.
Naturally, I offered her a temporary place of refuge in my condo in the Ape House - which, unfortunately, is located right next to Tarzan's pad. To escape the hair-raising sound of this mad bugger's nerve racking yodeling from the balcony of New Age condo, I suggest to Bob that we hit the road for a bo-peep at various of my favourite spots in West Oz.. To travel with an enlightened ape - maliciously rumoured to be the Wizard of Oz, albeit a somewhat hairy one who loves swinging through the trees - it was an offer too good to refuse ... and she brightly replied, Have camera, will travel!

Yippee - off the plane at last ... and it's ciggy time!
image 02

What - I'm not in Perth?
image 03

What's this button for?
image 04

These must be the lilies of the fields.
image 05

Wow! A tulip stairway to Heaven.
image 06

Spring has sprung in hoops.
image 07

On my knees again for that perfect shot.
image 08

Magi, these bloody tulips have no fragrance.
image 09

Let's dance!
image 10

Gonna shoot that swan if it kills me!
image 11

Water, water everywhere - but not a drop of coffee.
image 12

Got that one just right.
image 13

After the contrite confession.
image 14

Got to get a bit closer.
image 15

No, Bob, don't press that damned trigger!
image 16

So many flowers ... better shoot on the run.
image 17

Hmmm, kangaroo paws - wonder what they taste like.
image 18

Love the sights from this treetop walk.
image 19

Was that an earth tremor?
image 20

Just going for a quick swim, Magi.
image 21

Come on, Bob, sit down and eat your big breakfast at the Sage Cafe.
image 22

Watch out, Bob!
image 23

So much chocolate, so little time.
image 24

Wow! That tread-your-own has kick!
image 25

Just checking out the ghosts.
image 26

What's wrong with the damned thing?
image 27

Is this the limousine you promised, Magi?
image 28

Mine, mine ... these flowers are all mine!
image 29

This is NOT a five-star hotel, Magi - it's the Fremantle Prison.
image 30

Ah, a freebie at the Freo Markets.
image 31

Yep, I'll try one of those.
image 32

What, it's time to trudge again?
image 33

Let there be books for little Emily.
image 34

Better write the next photo-essay here in Magi's condo in the Ape House at the Perth Zoo.

Lovely tribute to the visiting bombshell, Magi, and your life will never be the same, will it?
Thank you very much, indeed. Neither my life nor the Ape House in the Perth Zoo will ever be the same again ... and the dynamo from New England has all the chimps madly rattling their mugs against the bars of their cages. LOL
But it does seem I have this character with flying white hair following me and the Ape around where ever we go recording on his stealthy camera everything I do so that should he be required to testify in a Court of Ill Repute, he'll have images to prove that though I'm neither a vagrant or a beggar, my sins are far greater.
We are hanging out for the next instalment.
Ask her how she does it - you might be trying to upload uncompressed oversize photos, and Gather's compression takes it down to minimum size!
After the Ape House, no one can ever be the same again. LOL
What a pity these photos didn't come up well but thanks to Bob we have seen all the splendour.
Hope many beliefs of your have changed dear Magi and that you look at life in a different way now.
Apolonas is happy all over for you two.
love you both
Such great great photos of Bob, Oz and even one of you, Magi! ,...I always miss OZ when i see these photos. Magi, next time come to Boston - but not in the cold months. MHmm. That leaves about 2 months.
Featured in the Triple Name Club.
I hope to come to Boston next year ... but not in the winter!
I imagine you did feel those earthquakes, but the earh moves for Bob every month I believe.
It looks like she has had a wonderful time seeing the natural wonders of your area.
If she uses the hot air balloon to come back, see if you can get a right wing conservative to make sure it has plenty of hot air.
*I want to read your stories soon. I had the flu last Friday. Friends and family were quite concerned when I started speaking pig Latin. I thought I was better, but yesterday my body just crashed and I slept 10 straight hours. I feel better, but I'm a bit like the dance photo. Oink, oink.
I suggest a lemon drink laced with honey for the flu - and plenty of rest. Take care of yourself, my friend!
Hope you are feelin' better soon.
As to the damnable brew that you indulged in - Mr Beelzebub is grinning and rubbing his hands in eager anticipation.
Today I sat and wrote the entire afternoon. Just making up crazy stories. Then I got a leg cramp and my wife & daughter sent me to do some shopping. I just got online. I just hope this cup of green tea gives me some needed energy.
household of faith
Sounds like you have had a great time.
It is frustrating that the individual pics load at an acceptable standard but are so poor in this essay. I don't understand it at all.
I don't know how to make the link work just by clicking on it. Maybe one of you can teach me.
Love to you both
I don't know, either, my friend.
I think Bob is enjoying the trip - as indeed am I ... sharing the various sights with a dear friend adds so much enjoyment.
I'm so happy to travel with you and Bob via these photos and words, Magi.
(My heavens, you do have big breakfasts there!)
Such breakfasts are necessary to replenish the expended energy ... well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. LOL
I have a camera too, (if I don't leave it in hotel rooms prior to flying to my destination), can I travel with you? I wouldn;t even mind that limo... as long as it runs!
This is a great photo essay, Magi... Love the captions! That sign reminds me of one we saw in our Cancun Hotel. It said something in the same vein "guests are not allowed to have women visitors in their room" Wow.
Those signs can be so much fun, can't they!
An ape house sounds like a good place to live as long as the apes can keep the hooting under control.
We apes are in charge of the Perth Zoo ... the buggers only hoot on our command. LOL
I'm glad you enjoyed this road trip, and thank you very much, indeed!
