I've dotted countless I's

And crossed a thousand T's

Yet my beloved mummy

Lies in state in Thebes!

 

Casper has again graced me with a lovely poem, and of course in such a way as to continue to conceal his identity.

Thank you, Casper.  I have Googled my little heart out tonight trying to learn the identity of this beloved mummy.  As yet, her identity is as much a secret as yours.

Thanks for posting this interesting poem! I knew a lady named Nancy once, who had a cat named Isis. I think one of her relatives was actually a fortune teller (the lady, not the cat). Have a great and creative week!

Ellie, I have decided my best approach may be to try to find some reference to an archeologist who has crossed his I's and T's. Or, maybe an Egyptian who has been reading the hieroglyphics. Believe me, this isn't easy. But I learned quite a bit last night about Thebes, Greece.

Bob, you are not alone. I haven't gotten even close to solving this yet.

Me too, Ellie. I've sent out a few emails asking how to get google to tell me what I want to know. So far it's still too early for a response. I'm thinking this may be based on a poem or epic in literature. Or the research of an archaeologist. Wonder if Casper will supply a hint or 2.

Sassy Cat, I did get word from Casper today that he was focusing on the many unidentified mummies when he wrote this, so he was not actually thinking of anyone in particular. But it was an enjoyable jaunt in google trying to figure it out.

Oh, did you ever get to see an exhibit? Last night I was reading about different gods and goddesses in Egypt. I got so knotted up with the names that finally, I put the book down and decided to locate another book.

Yes Lynn, I have been to two different exhibits here in Chicago. Pharaohs of the Sun, which was at the Art Institute and the latest visit of King Tut at the Field Museum. They were awesome! By the way, I have a couple of Egyptian lotus tattoos on my wrist and foot! : )

Marge, The King Tut exhibit came here to Memphis some years ago. Of course, we were living far away, but everyone I knew went and thought it was fantastic. You were lucky to be able to see the one you saw.

Sandra, we have been to the Art Institute and were in awe. I always want to go back to Chicago, particularly for St. Patrick's Day, to see the river dyed green and go to the museums again. We went also to a science museum. You probably know which one I am talking about. It was very close to the Art Institute. It was a magical day for us. It must be great living in Chicago and being able to see the best of the best exhibits. I'd like a tattoo on my foot. That must be fun.

Maybe, Wilma. Someday maybe he'll tell us who he is and how he knows so much. As for me, today I'm changing my search to queens in Egypt as opposed to goddesses in Egypt. That might make a difference. In one of my books about the Vatican, I found a museum that has many Egyptian pieces. It was very interesting to read about. That makes me think, I should look at my book on the Louvre. No telling what it has in it.

JoAnn, I don't think it is a specific mummy anymore according to a message sent by Casper. But in reading about the digs in Egypt, I've learned about the mummification process.
