The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer

Can anyone tell me anything about the Twilight Series by Stephanie Meyer?  It seems to be very popular and I was wondering how many people out there have found it a good read.  I'm on the 6th Harry Potter book right now... The Half Blood Prince.  I have loved reading them.  Should I possibly try Twilight next or does anyone have any other suggestions?

I am reading the 4th book from the Twillight series. I have really liked reading the first 3 books myself.
She's a good story teller. She's not a fantastic author. The stories have a huge following, and often get compared on a literary level to Harry Potter, which I think is crap. From a literary stand point, Meyer doesn't hold a candle to Rowling.

I love the Twilight Series so much, its such a great story and there are so many interesting elements. She explains everything and it all pulls together at the end. Harry Potter, on the other hand, is way far surpassed Twilight. I think people are all hot for the love story end of it, and it doesn't hurt that in the movie, the leading man is beautiful. His rival, also, beautiful.

my step daughter read the twillight series. she really liked it, but i haven't read any of them.

The books are good and hook you in. They're not as good as the Harry Potter series, but like a cult hit series I guess.

It's a good series... somewhat entertaining. I found it to be a really quick read for the most part.

I should say that it's a good teen series. From the standpoint of a vampire series, not so much. Sparkly vampires? Poison fangs? Bruises? Definitely doesn't measure up in the realm of all things vampire.
