I woke up this morning to find this:
An early October snowfall had coated everything with a thin layer of white.

As you can see it caught my pumpkin and flowers both by surprise!

I found these wild roses with a new frosty blanket also. I don't recall it snowing quite this early before, but it probably has. I do recall a Halloween or two as a kid trick or treating with snow on the ground. There was one blizzard on Halloween as well about 15-20 yrs. ago or so. I'm really not ready for this yet. We are normally in the mid to upper 60's this time of year! Hopefully it's not a sign of things to come!

Thanks so much for sharing with my group.
Thanks for posting this to my group WARM WINTER WELCOME. Anyone wanting to join this “winter themed” group click here
Snow here, too! The mountains already have a heavy covering which is early even for the Northern Rockies! The eruption of 6 volcanoes on the Kamchatka peninsula in Russia in late summer has come into play and will be a factor this winter. Sulfur Dioxide gas (SO2) from this volcanism when spewed into the upper atmosphere usually contributes to an increased level of precipitation and subsequent cooling in the Northern Latitudes, both in summer and winter.
