I don't like when people cheat

Brayden soccer game today I feel kinda like the other team cheated.  For his age it is supposed to be 4 on 4 no goalies.  Well the team we played today they kept a kid back there to be a goalie, with an extra coach at the net.   I was kinda dumbfounded.  Then our coach was out on the field talking to the kids, the ref blew the whistle and the other team got a free kick off and instead of him say do over, he let them score. 

 

Over all brayden had a great game.  I was worried about his asthma, but I gave him 2 puffs when he woke up and did what the ped told me to do before he goes out on the ffield, give him a puff.  IT worked great even the coach saw an improvement in him.   Alot of the people in the stands said he looked like a differnet child.  He played 2 quaters back to back and did not have to come out even once other then at the end to get a drink... That is huge for him.. he did almost score  in the right goal today, but it  was end of quater, and the whistle blew, but I am so proud of how well he did play today.

 

Afte soccer I saw the fire house was having an open house and I took the kids by there, they had a blast, they got to see how the jaws of life work, and got to climb out a window to a fire fighter like if there was a fire.

 

over all I am proud of brayden, i just wish it was fair all around it.

I noticed some of the same things when Jeffrey played on a soccer team. It can get unfair, but hold your head up high and know that Brayden is on the better team because they do not cheat.

kids don't see what the parents see. there are always going to be coaches that would rather win than to play the game for that "age". My kids have seen parents scream at the youth refs which is totally abusive.

As long as Brayden had fun and had a good game, that's what you should focus on and be happy.
The fire station open house sounded like fun.

I know what you mean Anne. Thomas had a football game today and the other team lost three touchdowns for the bad hits that they made on our kids and gotted flagged. They took out our main runner, and laughed while he was down on the field. Now these are 8 & 9 year olds, but they think they're playing in the Super Bowl. You can tell how hard the kids are going to play, by the way the coaches act. The coaches on the other team are the in your face type. Our coaches yell at the kids when it is needed, but for the most part are very laid back. They do not get in the kids faces and yell at them. We lost our game today, but even the coaches on the other team had said our boys had really improved since the pre-season game when we played the same kids. Our boys play hard, but they play fair. That's the most important thing. Take pride in the fact that Brayden's team doesn't cheat. It's all about teaching children how to play a sport, it's not about winning at any cost.

i really agree wit hyou... i am glad you little one did not get hurt playing those bruts today. Although I can't lie I want brayden to play football when he is older... I was told soccer is a great warm up for that

My little guy can luckily take a hit, but some of those boys really play rough. They step on hands when the boys are down. One kid threw Thomas down by the helmet after the play was over. He just gets up and continues to go after them. We have at least two kids come off the field crying every time we play because someone steps on their hands or arms when they're down. That is just poor sportsmanship. I remind Thomas all the time it's not if you win or lose, it's how you win and lose. If you play fair, play your hardest, and play as a team, you won no matter what the score.

that is kinda what i have told brayden, i told him it does not matter if he wins or loses, it is wether or not he has fun.. Right now I am not really worried about goals, I am more worried he likes what he is playing

That's what matters. If they're not having fun, they're not going to want to play. You can't be obnoxious winners and you can't be sore losers. You just have to give 100% and have fun!!!!!!!!!!

the fire station stop sounds like it went along with your dream/nightmare.

glad brayden is doing better being on the inhaler. sorry i missed the game. i'll try to get out next weekend.

Cheating stinks. We've had a problem with people plagiarising papers--you don't learn anything from cheating--except how to get an F really quickly.

This is Fire Safety Month, hopefully there will be lots of activities in communities for kids. I am surprised the schools did not do field trips to the Fire Station.

I do not like when adults cheat in sports games with children. This is not true sportmanship. Keep encouraging Brayden to play his best; there are many more teams that do not and will not cheat. Good job Brayden!

I don't know enough about soccer to comment on the cheating, but I did want to say that I'm glad that Brayden's asthma is better. I had to take medicine before I exercise, too, and it made a difference. They really didn't have inhalers when I was a kid and that would have made a big difference in my life if I was able to have them.

Parents notice that but the children don't. My kids have been playing soccer since they were 3 years old, it's about learning and having fun! As long as they do their best, that's what really matters most!

I noticed some unfair behavior down at the ball field this summer when my grandson played t ball. We try our best to set good examples for these children and it gets frustrating to watch unfair play taking place. Usually the children do not notice but my grandson did and was hurt by some of it. ~pif~
