Have You Ever Written For Mahalo?

Mahalo appears to be a combination article site, answers site, and curated search results site, that pays the curators, writers, and answer providers in Mahalo dollars. At $40 Mahalo dollars you can cash out through paypal. The exchange rate in U.S. dollars is $0.75 per Mahalo dollar.

On the second cash out, or if you try to withdraw $600 on the first cash out, they need a W-9 form.

Offered pay rates for tasks and answers vary quite a bit, $10 was the highest I saw for an article and $0.25 the lowest for an answer when scanning through tonight. Page managers are offered 50% of the ad revenue from the page they curate.

All of this is just from a quick read through a few minutes ago. I found the site because they were showing up as sending traffic to one of my Squidoo pages. I've never heard of them before, and googling for Mahalo reviews or Mahalo + scam isn't turning up anything negative, nor much at all, really. I have too much going on to try them out right now, but it seemed a shame to just bury them in my bookmarks for "someday when I have more time" if someone here can get some good out it.

So, does anyone know anything about writing for Mahalo?

I never heard of it before, but it looks interesting. I just signed up. It is easy to sign up, and it's laid out quite logically. It has aspects of Ask.com as well as Squidoo. Looks good so far...

Ahhh Lune! I have deeply missed you! I am back on Gather...perhaps a wee bit..no a whole lot better than before I left. I will write about my journey back from Hell a piece at a time when I am ready. It is simply too grueling to tackle all at once; however it is important to me and perhaps another soul or two. You have lent a steadying hand during vital times to me and I more than just appreciate this...I am deeply aware of the need for each other...all of us.

Thanks, Lynn. I did see one comment in a forum I visit where the person said they were making more money managing a page at Mahalo than they were from their other online writing.

It seems they're under the radar as far as the online earning/writing community goes, which could mean a great opportunity for those who do have the time. I've seen quite a few uncurated pages there when researching things within my niches. Almost makes me wish I had the ability to take on another project or two of this kind.

Hi Lune, this is good to know, and I certainly do know what you mean about having the time to take on a new project.

When we lived in Hawaii, a typical greeting and good by was to tell someone "mahalo", and it made me wonder is this company based in Hawaii. Of course, there could be somewhere else that this is a every day greeting. If I can find out more about this company I will be sure to let you know.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to check it out. It would be nice to make some money. Gather doesn't pay much in money, but it pays very well in the pleasure I get from sharing posts and ideas here.
