Dear Mother,

 I think of you all the time

 Though you left so many years ago

 I wonder if I would have looked like you

 But I will never know

 

 I have had a very happy life

 You knew that when I married Bill

 I was so honored to be his wife

 I now know your love for dad continues still

 

 You didn't get to see my children

 I had a girl and three great boys

 They know all about you

 For I told them of our lives with joy

 

 You also have great grandchildren

 There are thirteen that also know you

 And they are having children, so far there are eight

 I will tell them of you too, things you taught me as I grew

 

 Mother, I am getting older, soon I will be eighty three

 I've lived to see my family tree grow

 I've lived forty years longer than you

 Mother, I still miss you so

 

 My lovely daughter is with you now

 And my husband too, that's another

 I know that you are loving them

 Thank you for that Mother

 

 My brothers are also with you

 When God wants me he will call

 May God's Grace still shine upon your face

 Mother this note is just to thank you for it all

If only I could really write her this letter, I know she would be glad to get it, and I think she really knows all of this, as I hear from her often in my dreams, she is a wonderful woman and Mother, I talk to her every day.

I know what you say is true. My mother seems as if she is with me every moment, every step of the way. I feel my mother's love in my life just as you do. It's reassuring to know that love never disappears from our lives.

I think this shows the gift a mother gives. Her love. Lasts a lifetime. Holds one sturdy through thick and thin. Your mother seemed to understand this. My hat is off to her. And a very loving letter you wrote her.

I'm giving you hugs Elsie. I was fortunate enough to have my Mom up until 1995 when she was 76. And that still wasn't long enough. I wish I could snap my fingers and have all of our Mothers back again if for just a day.
Yes I believe she knows too.

Wouldn't it be nice, but we wouldn't know how to fill the time with all those years to catch up on, maybe she will read this. My sons are fortunate to still have one parent, as I was 25 when I had my first son who is 58. If only I had started earlier, darn that war, lol

Well , I am not doing a whole lot Kathryn, on for about an hour a day, still tired out, and went to the medical center with Mark today, probably shouldn't have, but he will have a biopsy of his kidney on Wednesday, I will go with him that day too, I will have to drive that day, and I don't get my stitches out until Thursday. so much going on. love, Elsie

Elsie I know you must go with Mark because that is just you, but since you don't even have your stitches out I hope you will try to rest even somehow when you are in the hospital with him. I'm saying extra prayers for both of you.

I have this image of heaven,, after you are done with your main man you are left to this great garden, of love and happiness, where there are many many table of families of the love one who has gone before you.. For this I believe your mom is sitting at the head of the table surrounded be the Love of th boy and Tracy and Bill. I know I will find you when I get there if you beat me there. For I know Paddy is at our table and I will find you both....

This almost brings tears to my eyes. I enjoyed reading your beautiful tribute to your mother. I'd like to try writing a letter of comfort or guidance for the group but I'm not sure I have the time.

That's the nicest compliment I could ever get, K.D., she had beautiful skin, and I thank her that I got that from her, she didn't have time to wrinkle, and so far I am holding my own there, I owe her a lot for so many things. Mostly she knew how to love,
