The Italian Tourism folks just invited me to the Adventures in Travel Expo to attend a presentation on Sicily and the Aeolian Islands. I will be traveling with these folks to Venice (again) on Oct 25th - will I see you at the show?

Adventures in Travel Expo Treks into New York
More than 200 Exhibitors from Around the World Highlight Cultural, Active, Experiential Vacations
New York, NY, (August 26, 2009)—The 6th Annual Adventures in Travel Expo (ATE), presented by the New York Post, will be in New York on Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. While there, attendees can learn to scuba dive, climb a rock wall, zip-line, see cultural performances and book your next vacation at discounted rates right on the show floor.
Plan a far-off adventure or a quick weekend getaway with the help of more than 350 exhibitors from Mexico to the Philippines to Pocono Mountains. Attendees will meet experts from destinations, tour companies and resorts to research and select the perfect vacation. Visitors will find authentic travel experiences ranging from eco-tours, safaris, and volunteer vacations, to cycling, and culinary tours.
Additionally, throughout the expo, the National Geographic ADVENTURE Theater will spotlight presentations by top adventure travel authors, explorers and experts. On Saturday hear from travel expert Arthur Frommer on how to travel smart in down economy and on Sunday, Patricia Schultz, author of 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, will highlight top travel choices for 2009-2010.
“Our exhibitors and partners know how important value is to travelers today," noted John Golicz, CEO of Unicomm, Expo organizer. "It's all about experience and getting the most for your money, and many of these exhibitors offer savings for attendees through show only vacation discount offers.”

Too much work for me and not enough wine. I didn't see any mention of it, but wasn't paying too much attention after I saw 'learn to scuba dive' as when I vacation, I want to see the ocean life cooked on my plate, not looking back at me in any way, shape or form.
You should have a nice time as it does sound like there is a lot of different ideas and places to choose from for a trip.
