The liberal media didn't have much to say about the man who was beaten at the St. Louis, MO town hall meeting back in August.
Click here to Meet Kenneth Gladney.
From that web site:
Kenneth Gladney was attacked on the evening of August 6, 2009 at Rep. Russ Carnahan's town hall meeting in South St. Louis County. Kenneth was approached by an SEIU representative as Kenneth was offering "Don't Tread on Me" flags to those exiting the gathering. The SEIU representative demanded to know why a black man was handing out these flags. The SEIU member used a racial slur against Kenneth, then punched him in the face. Kenneth fell to the ground. Another SEIU member yelled racial epithets at Kenneth as he kicked him in the head and back. Kenneth was also attacked by one other male SEIU member and a woman. The three men were clearly SEIU members, as they were wearing T-shirts with the SEIU logo.
Kenneth was beaten badly. One assailant fled on foot; three others were arrested. Kenneth was admitted to the hospital, where he was treated for his numerous injuries. Kenneth was merely expressing his freedom of speech by handing out the flags. He in no way provoked any argument or altercation, as evidenced by the fact that three of his assailants were arrested.
We hope that Kenneth fully recovers from his injuries; however, he is in pain at this time. This was a truly senseless hate crime.
Kenneth subscribes to no particular political party. He prefers to think of himself as an independent. He is calling on the SEIU, Representative Carnahan, and President Obama to condemn the racist, violent actions of these union members.
Kenneth thanks everyone for their outpouring of support and well wishes. After he recovers from his injuries, Kenneth plans to travel across the country to promote "Project Liberty," a new educational program designed to teach America's youth about their fundamental rights under the Constitution.
To Kenneth, this is not about Left versus Right nor Democrats versus Republicans. This cause is about personal liberties and freedom of speech. Project Liberty will sweep across this great nation to unite people for the common cause of protecting our individual liberties.
The same kinds of things - the verbal abuse, anyway - have happened at Tea Party and other grassroots conservative rallies throughout the United States. When an African-American dares to be a part of the fiscal conservative movement, liberals think they have the right to abuse him/her. They think they have a right to question their stand, and to try to convert them to the "right way." And they insist that because they are black, they should be infatuated with the black President. One man who was interviewed at the 9/12 Rally in Washington said that he didn't dare bring his family because of the abuse they receive because they are black and conservatives. What a shame that his children could not experience the coming together of like minds and hearts, because liberals are racist.
That is racism. Following a person because of race, or shunning him because of race is equally wrong. Insisting that someone else should follow another because of race is wrong.
Last year, 58-year old Ohio State Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones passed away from an aneurysm in her brain. Democrats all rushed to say what a wonderful representative she was. They never mentioned what a hard time she was given because she backed Hilary Clinton for President instead of Obama. They never mentioned it was expected of her - because she was black - that she would naturally have to be in favor of Obama for President. But that was what was happening to her during the election campaign. One has to wonder if it might have helped her early demise.
Here on Gather, we had someone who also got flack for not being a "normal" black man. I'm not sure if Bob Parks got re-elected or not, or if he still posts here. But here is his blog: Black & Right
I get so tired of liberals who call conservatives racist just because they don't agree with the policies of Obama. Of course we don't! We're conservatives...and he's not.

Last week, a black gentleman named Kenneth Gladney went to a town-hall meeting hosted by Rep. Russ Carnahan, Missouri Democrat. While passing out "Don't Tread on Me" flags, he was viciously attacked by Service Employees International Union (SEIU) members. One called him a "nxxxxx." (Note: Brian I eliminated the word, but you know what it was. It's in the link.)
These union thugs were directed by the White House to go to the protests and "punch back twice as hard." And they did.
While the attack was captured on video and is available on YouTube, Mr. Gladney's horrifying story is absent from MSNBC's 24/7 media cycle. Mr. Krugman has yet to write about it. And Mr. Cooper has yet to condemn the attack.
Not that it excuses it any more than christians who beat up people who wont pray or arent christian.
IF that happens, they are "counterfeit" Christians who give real Christians a bad name.
No more than ALL christians should be blamed for blowing up abortion clinics or killing doctors who preform abortions.
This is such a tragedy.
I never said it was Obama who beat the guy...although the comment above I left for Brian from the Washington Times where Obama did tell people to "punch back twice as hard". Guess people have taken that seriously, and some literally.
As I said above, Lori:
The abuse, including verbal, of people who are not in favor of the President is out of control. Even here. And especially in the lamestream news. One of our own political regular writers even used the offensive term for Tea Party Patriots again today. It gets old. And it's not necessary...unless that's all anyone has is name calling and no real arguments.
I dont see any of this alleged abuse you are talking about.
As for the tea party patrons they chose the name so go complain to them.
I think since Obama coined the phrase "teachable moment" he nominated himself as the karma czar of the inconsequential as well as the teachable moment czar. He defended his friend for having a Rev. Wright moment in public but has been AWOL about the issue you mentioned Marilyn as well as AWOL regarding a black honor student being beaten to death, as other blacks recorded and laughed, in the community Obama organised.
You know...my grandmother always said that when people call you names that you know are not true, it's usually because they're the ones who should wear that label. If you look at 9 out of 10 LWL's who call people at Gather morons, bigots and racists for not liking Obama's policies, it's obvious that Grandma was right. They are the ones who are actually morons, bigots and racists But I don't ever say that because I was also taught that it's not nice to call people names.
â– Sixty-one percent of all adults arrested for violent crime were white, and 69.4 percent of adults arrested for property crime were white.
â– White adults were arrested most often for driving under the influence, registering 852,211 arrests for that offense.
â– Black adults were most often arrested for drug abuse violations, registering 410,299 arrests for that offense.
â– The number of juveniles arrested for violent crime was almost equally divided between black juveniles (49.8 percent) and white juveniles (48.2 percent). White juveniles accounted for the majority of juveniles arrested for property crime (67.2 percent).
â– White juveniles were arrested for larceny-theft more often than for any offense with 149,754 arrests. Black juveniles were arrested most often for other (simple) assaults with 71,486 arrests.
And Jeff stop the lies and BS
link
And by the way, Jeff specifically mentioned murders. Here's a site that says that blacks are victims and commit murder more - 6 to 7 times more.

Are you still peddling the ridiculous nonsense that you latest cute little teabagging party consisted of millions upon millions of people, fool?
Now, please cease and desist from using that vulgar, obscene, and offensive term in my posts. You've been asked before. Continuing to use that term in my posts after being asked not to shows exactly what kind of person you are.
Did you have a democrat in the office when your plea for welfare aka ssi was turned down?
Did I say your husband was on welfare? No. What I said was that the leaders of the Dem party want to keep people down. They want more people on welfare so they can control them. They don't want people to succeed on their own.
I've thought about this a bit, on a personal level, and I must admit to a bit of racism myself. I tend to trust people of "color", more than pale folks like me. I've known a lot of people of "color", and maybe I've just lucked out or something, but on average, they've proven untrustworthy less often.
(I'm working on my prejudice . . . in a half hearted sort of way ; )
1) The "fight" was between 2 black men, I don't see how that's racists.
2) After the "fight" Kenneth seemed to be walking around just fine, I don't know how he ended up in a wheelchair.
What are you trying to pull here?
When we had our march on City Hall in Cincinnati, and we walked 6-8 abreast down the street (with proper parade permit), the black protesters made sure they were in the middle of the crowd so that the black ACORN members on the sidewalks couldn't harass them.
If you look at the videos of the 9/12 march on Washington, there were two black men interviewed. Both said they had been harassed because of their race and the fact that they are conservatives. One said he couldn't bring his family for fear they would be hurt.
That's the racist part, Isaiah.
And...obviously you've never been in an accident. Injuries often show up days afterward.
And Carla...show some proof of what you said that doesn't come from a liberal blog where they've made fun of Tea Party patriots. You cannot.
The records all show that there were arrests.
You seriously said "And Carla...show some proof.."???
Because the last time I asked you for proof, you stated, (just like every other time)
"No, Catt, this time you will not dictate to me. Just open your eyes. Just read. If I actually pointed fingers at specific people it wouldn't be nice, but the words are there to read...if you're paying attention."
I told you that was a cop-out and you actually had no proof, so you replied
"No, it's not a cop-out. I'm sorry you're too blind to see, but I it's not my job to make you see. You have to open your own eyes or remain blind. That's up to you. My answers are honest. You, on the other hand, merely point fingers and call names. Sorry, dear heart. I'm not going to be sucked into your agenda any more."
Yet you dare ask someone else to prove their words? Lady, there is something seriously wrong with the way you learned to discuss things.
And you know what? I have already asked that of 2 other people and the conversation stopped. Imagine that.
Sorry clown, but that hat was handed over to the GOP after civil rights legislation passed. Check your facts. Without rabid racists, the republiSCUM party would be nothing but lunatic fringe knuckle-dragging fools like Marilyn here.
"Clark, as we have pointed out before, the Republicans have had African-Americans in the cabinet for years now, but everyone chose to ignore that and to pretend it wasn't so."
That doesn't mean that the party, as a whole, isn't patently racist. They've been race-baiting for decades, every time an election rolls around, and it's no great coincidence that the teabagger movement sprung up from the loony toon, racist base of the party, in response to the first black man being elected POTUS.
"Now, please cease and desist from using that vulgar, obscene, and offensive term in my posts."
Racism IS an ugly word, but it's really not my fault that the GOP is the party of racists. That was THEIR choice, not mine. I only think it's critically important that we expose them for what they are, so that people think very carefully about affiliating themselves with such a vile organization or vicious hatred.
"Funny how Clark shows up and your true colors come out."
I seem to have that effect on a lot of the loons.
You're right. Racism is ugly. But racism runs rampant in the Dem party. Personally, I think black leaders are the worst.
I think this man was assulted more for not being a Democrat than the color of his skin.
There is a strong tie between Obama and that union, that's the reason for extending the blame to him I guess.
1) The "fight" was between 2 black men, I don't see how that's racists.
2) After the "fight" Kenneth seemed to be walking around just fine, I don't know how he ended up in a wheelchair.
What are you trying to pull here? "
Marilyn is well-known for her grandiose, partisan lies. She only reads from extremist, far rightwing blog sites, and only watches Fox, so she really never experiences actual facts. She lives in a rightwing fog of deception and delusion, because it's far easier for her than accepting the reality that her ideology is a monstrous failure by every single possible measure, and that she's been lied to and shamelessly manipulated all along.
She actually went on for weeks trying to convince people that there were millions of people at that ridiculous corporate-sponsored, Fox-advertised astroturf march in DC a month or so ago. She posted pictures that were known and proven to be fakes, as her "proof," and then, when confronted with harsh reality, simply brushed it aside as being from "liberal sources that are untrusthworthy."
She's a sorry, sad, pathetic little ideological fool with a brain so tragically liquified and rendered useless by decades of rightwing propaganda that I'm surprised she can still carry on basic bodily functions.
Marilyn is one of the lost ones. She will never, ever get it, because she will never, ever ALLOW herself to get it, because to do so would require her to read FACTUAL information, rather than rightwing distortions, and again, that's something that she simply lacks the courage and wisdom to face. She's a lost cause, but an important example to all, as to just how damaging drinking nothing but ideological kook-aid for decades can be.
Oh really so those "people" you "talk" to that dont want the government in their healthcare would rather die then have affordable healthcare?
Have you signed an affadavit, officially refusing your social security and medicare benefits then, or are you still a raging rightwing hypocrite?
Clark,
Your name calling shows your lack of wit. As for Social Security and Medicare, I'll sign but give me my tens of thousands I already paid into a system I'll never see my money back from. Now, you sign.
Never will be.
Must have on of them special tv's that only has the pretend news channel fox on it.
Spend another dollar a month maryland and get genuine fake news from comedy central but then their fake news ain't racist.
By the way I witnessed one of your silly tea parties while on vacation , giant crowd of twenty oh I mean twenty million.
do you people never realize how stupid and un-American you look?
Why is it unAmerican to want the government to be fiscally responsible, Don? Why is it unAmerican to want free markets? And less taxes for everyone? Explain that, Don.
Where were you over the past 3 decades, while you filthy corrupt republiCONs have been flushing this nation $11 trillion down the debt toilet? Your precious little booshie boy handed over one gigantic $hit storm for the incoming, including a whopping $1.5 TRILLION deficit, to add to the previous $5.5 trillion in debt that he'd shoveled upon us during his 8 highly corrupt years. Where were your filthy little, fraudulent teabagger parties then? Hmmm?
The ONLY reason you morons have suddenly gotten your panties in a wad is because there's now a BLACK man in the WHITE house, and you simply cannot STAND it. Deal with it. Sarah and the old man lost, miserably.
"Why is it unAmerican to want free markets?"
There's no such thing as a "free market," except in the delusional, twisted, severely damaged minds of rightwingnuts.
"And less taxes for everyone?"
Obama just cut your taxes, you fool. Btw, the largest tax increase in world history was levied by none other than your holy St. Redink Ronnie. Where was all your whining about HIM? Hmmmmm?
Anyone who can see that the man is standing up, moving his arms, talking coherently. Yet the conservatives put him in a wheelchair and sling for the photo-ops.
And why has there been no more info on the case from your side? Why has his blog been taken down? Not enough money in it for the lawyer, is it?
Conservatives not into "taking care of their own" as they keep insisting others do?
Or did they just want to use the man's race for a moment and then dumped him, as I have said they wanted to do all along with Obama's presidency?
The whole things smells as bad as Limbaugh's neck under his many chins.
Hell, he wasn't even the one on the ground.
Take another look at the video in slow motion. Anyone with any medical training at all can see he is not one of the "walking wounded".
Charges will not be filed against the SEIU worker, but I know your side will say Obama had a hand in that, too. Lordy, lordy....
And if it was anything serious, but delayed, we'd see more than just that one PR stunt. No wheelchair or sling to be seen anywhere afterwards.
How much money did YOU donate to this "poor" man, by the way? I know how much you guys tout the overweening generosity of the people to the point where government healthcare isn't necessary. I guess old Kenny's bills are taken care of now, huh?
Thanks, Linda. I think Clark is confused about Medicare and Social Security, but you explained it well. :)
Thanks for the reminder, Clark, about why our government should not be involved in any way with our health care.
I'm still waiting for you to post something, Don. Maybe you should write a love poem to me. I'm married, so nothing can come of it. But it's sweet that you care.
