SNL Obama Skit - Too True for Comfort? (VIDEO)

Seems to point out that all the gnashing of teeth, stomping of feet, running of mouthes and hue and cry we have been hearing is just so much fRightwing NOISE...........if they believe he has done NOTHING....what is anyone griping about?
Guess we can all just see what we want to see in the skit. I see it as an indicment of the just say NO segment of the population since they think they GOT what they wanted but are still acting out like children!

The guy doesn't resemble or speak like Obama.

This is what SNL does and has done for years. No big whoop. Lorne Michaels is a big time Republican, by the way.

It was cute, and it was funny, but was not really accurate as to what he has accomplished, thus far, nor in what he is trying to accomplish.

It does point out rather well, though, that the hysterics of the right, and the dire rhetoric it espouses against Obama, has not come, and is not coming to frution, and so, were and are unfounded.

I did get a good chuckle out of it though. It was funny.

I am not surprised that SNL is spoofing Obama at this point...they have never been particularly respectful to the powerful. But, this one does hit close to the truth. Yes, I think I am more disappointed in him for what he hasn't done so far.

What is amazing is how much the left condemned this skit. However, I do think it is a warning shot at the president. "Either do something, or we're gonna jump ship." All good humor has it roots in the truth, and what makes SNL so funny, is that in its absurdity, it makes a point.

I simply laughed. It obviously has roots in the truth. Everyone expected him to end the two wars and close GITMO in the first 3 months. Pass healthcare and immigration reform the following three months. That expectation is the truth and he has failed on that. It is however a dumb set of things to expect in two years let alone 9 monhts.

It was a skit. An SNL skit. I don't see it as any mandate to indicate that Obama has "done nothing." And anyone on the left that felt the need to attack SNL and anyone on the right that felt the need to use it as another excuse to attack Obama is frankly an idiot.

The problem with BOTH SIDES is that for some reason we expected Obama to do everything his first year in office, and then I guess vacation for the other three. presidents get four year terms for a reason.

I never expected President to accomplish miracles, much less accomplish everything he talked about and/or advocated during the campaigns, in his first year in office.

I never expected him to accomplish miracles, either. After all, the GOP opposition, and all the other nonsence, has certainly impeded progress. But I was hoping for a few things to be accomplished by now; there are things he could do immediately, but I believe he hasn't done due to political reasons, like rescinding "Don't ask, Don't tell" for example. And I know he was handed most of the problems from the Bush regime. BUT he seems set on escalating the occupation in Afghanistan, Guantanamo is nowhere near closing, and they say he has done deals behind WH closed doors with big Pharma and other corporate entities. There werte a lot of campaign promises made which really did give "hope". He is certainly better than McCain would've been, no doubt. But my husband, who voted for a third-party candidate, keeps reminding me of everything he promised that he seems to have reneged on. I don't know what to respond to him...

If he has done, nothing, what's all the fuss about? As the skit says, the GOP should not be angry at Obama. The guy has not done anything, right?

They want it both ways. Obama is socializing the country. Obama has not done anything. Which one is it?

I found it funny, although there is some truth in it. I wouldn't expect Obama or any other president to be able to solve all those issues, only 8-9 months into office; but I do wish he stuck to his guns more as far as real change goes. It is still early in his presidency though, so a lot can still happen. I think the video makes a good point about him having a majority, if he and the rest of the democrats can't get anything done then; then when can they?
