Don't you just hate it when you miss that

Kodak moment?

Last week I counted seven different butterflies and four different moths in my (organic) garden. You'd think I'd be able to capture at least a shot or two on occasion!

I do stalk them off and on with very little success. Once more, enticed by a pair of my favorite butterflies - Gulf Fritillary (say that ten times fast:) 

I ran for my camera - too fast - blurriness!

Another missed opportunity! SHUCKS!!!

 

 

 

 OK - I got in one more shot before they flew off

This shot is a tad better, but still eons from a clear shot, never mind that they are behind the foliage .... sigh

 

Oh well, it will keep me entertained when I take a break from my current projects - I will keep trying to catch those elusive butterflies in my garden!

Those are still lovely photos....love the colors! Yeah, guess we should carry cameras around with us all the time....LOL! I could have gotten some precious photos of some nieces' babies and little kids yesterday at the ash scattering ceremony for my SIL, but, of course, no camera........ughhhh! I'm thinking of buying a disposable one or two and just carrying one with me at all times!

They are still beautiful photos. I've had so many times when I forgot my camera and needed it. I have been trying to take it with me....

Aww they still are cool photo's!!
Usually my camera's (my man's camera is now mine too :0) are with us at all time, but for the time I saw a really cool shot of two teenage sheep in the back of a pick up just like dogs! It was one of those lol moments!

You present the argument against DSLR (or at least the reason I don't want one). By the time you set up a shot, the shot is long gone.

I have always had trouble capturing butterflies. I have many photos with blur, or wings closed. They are hard to get!

I had a moment like that today... didn't take my camera when we went out walking in NYC, and of course we ended up right by the very-picturesque Intrepid ship.

Rose, with the beautiful photos you post, I can't imagine you miss too many Kodak moments!

I remember when a friend and I were at Big Sur and she crawled out on one of the rocks to catch the perfect photo. You guessed it....about the time she got n perfect position, splash! In comes a giant wave. And you can imagine what the saltwater did to her camera!
