TPM is one of the few places you can get to the You Tube of the video....Conan O'Brien is copyright too. and YouTube is pulling the video as fast as it shows up. TPM has their own copy from YouTube and are probably subject to sanction for posting it.
Then the Sesame Street Video is FROM A WEBSITE THAT IS LIKELY VIOLATING COPYRIGHT TOO. I will SAY THAT MY COMPLICITY EXTENDS ONLY TO SHOWING THE VIOLATIONS OF COPY RIGHT BY OFFERING LINKS TO THEM.
Green Muze is a sponsored organic food site. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THEY PLAN TO DEFEND THEIR USE OF THE SESAME STREET segment.

But, fair use AND COMMENT doctrine may well get all of us off the hook. In every case the presentation has been what I think could be called fair use and comment since they were edited from the totality of the originating broadcasts. O'Brien's use of the video in a modified form may well be a violation unless there was agreement before hand.

I am not a lawyer, but I did broadcast news for many years, using, in many instances, information published by other sources. No one ever sued, but I did have Associated Press membership, which provided a very broad license.

Who in the world would think that was real?

My ex had only a certificate of live birth, and it was not sufficient evidence for him to start collecting Social Security. They wanted the real thing. Why, then, should becoming President require less proof?

Kathy, I spend about 4 hours a day reading - and not here - all over the internet. Liberal news sites, conservative news sites, newsletters I receive (from both sides), PBS/BBC, national newspaper sites. I read, Kathy. But I will never believe that Obama gets a pass just because he happens to have dark skin.

About Obama's birth certificate, I have probably read close to 100 articles and newsletters and emails.

When the first lawsuits were filed, the courts said that Joe Average person could not file and they were thrown out. Why? We have no "interest"? Of course we do. It matters - and it should matter to all Americans - that he is or is not eligible to serve.

Then, some of the lesser known candidates for president filed lawsuits and they were thrown out as well? Why? Again there was the "interest" thing. Of course they should be able to file. They were also running for president!

Obama has spent so much money keeping all of his records hidden from view - not only his birth certificate, but his school records from elementary, from high school, from college.

Are you not aware that you have the same information in two links in a 4 sentence post, Einstein, or is it that you just want people to think that some people thought this was genuine with no proof? I want to see the Gather post with the comments. Where is it?

Both videos showed up fine for me. I thought the real video was really cute, and I think it's great to encourage kids to eat healthier. As for the doctored one, I'm a bit confused: Did the Conan show doctor it themselves, or did someone else doctor it; and conan just showed it? Could it be possible, that whoever doctored the video; was just using satire to comment on how ridiculous the things said about Obama are?

And how in the hell could someone actually think the doctored video was genuine?

It's amazing that the doctored video was shown on TV no matter who made it!

Nyota, What surprises me is the totally apathetic reception the tapes got. I am afraid that my deliberate interaction with the radical right online is infecting me with a kind of stupid rarely found in liberals. The knee Jerk Reactionary RAGE at anything even hinting at criticism of my heroes.
