Yes, we will add a number of different bushes, both flowering and non but ornamental. Where is "here"?

Don't know about cat tail. They grow in this area but I had not thought about them. I need to check out that possibility. Is there a real plus side to having them in the pond?

food for fish, habitat for critters dragonflies etc. If you are going to have fish cat tail helps break down fish crap because the roots have micro organisms that help keep a pond clean, i would not swim in one with fish that does not have them

don't know a whole lot just what I learned when the I was a cub master with my sons scouts, when we were learning about wild edibles cat tails have all sorts of uses ans benefits

Bass of course and varying types of cats and feeder species. Are you going to allow pond vegetation?

Charles, Yes we will need to do some to promote algae growth for feed fish to grow on.

Love it! Build it and they will come! Waterfowl, fishes, dragonflies, and if you're lucky you may see a deer stopping for a sip in the early morning fog. Best of luck and enjoyment.

One makes do with what one has. I can remember making good use of a hose in the summer in playing with my children. Slides, wading pools and sprinklers. Good memories.

It's so beautiful Clifford. It's too lovely for common fish. Why not Japanese koi? Fish bite, are you planning to swim with them? Thank you for sharing your pictures with us. Does you wife like the sound of running water? My husband loved this sound too and I hated it, it always kept me awake, LOL, but I pretended to like it because he did.

I am glad you appreciate it Lee. Each day it is gaining in its appearance as the grass is coming up and the water is getting clearer. We do plan to swim in the pond and are going to stock it with fish to add to our table fare.

My wife loves the sound of the water as I do. It is so peaceful to me that I can lie down beside it and get very sleepy almost immediately. I bet your husband really knew your true feelings. Some things are always known. Thanks for commenting.

Of course he did. I think it's a womb thing...LOL Whenever we went to Galveston we always stayed at the Flagship Inn, the one built on a pier over the Gulf and he would keep the balcony door open all night just so he could listen to the surf and I would wait until he was asleep and then close the door, LOL. Your pictures are beautiful. Next Spring when it all turns green and the flowers are blooming and the ferns are waving in the breeze take more pictures to show us your pride and joy. Some dreams do come true. God is blessing you mightly aren't you glad you met Him.
