It is very bad everywhere. my son has been seeking a job for 6 months.

After 9 months Obama, can no longer blame Bush. Blaming the previous administration will do absolutely NOTHING to fix it. And with all of Obamas Progressive policies being implemented this is not fully HIS ECONOMY! It is time he owned up to it.

Jobless had gone up, income has gone down and they say the stimulis is working. That's politics for you. I wish they could look at the real figures instead through rose colored glasses.

The blame game is the great american pastime. Always blame the other guy and screw the figures around to make you look as good as you can. If they ever held an honest job they might be a little more sinsitive to the situation.

Over the last decade, they have tried tax cuts, deregulation, job creation, taking on debt, and a dash of protectionism.

The poor dears, there is nothing left that they haven't tried (or so they think).

It took years to get into this, and I fear it will take years to get out. I have heard the 17% number in the last few days, too ... but I suspect that is even low.

Yep. Both parties have tailored unemployment stats for decades. Obama despite the rhetoric is no different.

Here in Florida, the statistics are a great deal worse. The figures reflect whatever one interprets them to reflect. Those who are unemployed see the number as 100%

I went independent ~ that is the only thing that saved my income~ however I consider myself lucky~ many try their hands at small independent business~ and the present economy devastates them~

There is a model of what worked to look at. When Reagan got elected he inherited an equally bad economy, Unemployment-18%-interest rates-20%- inflation-12% economic numbers worse than Obama inherited.
Like Obama, Reagan after a year in office his unemployment numbers went up and he was being excoriated in the press. But after a year and a half of his policy's the economy came back, as a matter of fact the economy went on a 17 year boom.
The problem today is that Reagan and Obama are complete opposites in economic policy. Reagan slashed taxes, made money easier to borrow for the small business person which enabled them to hire people.
Obama has raised taxes and fees on all small bussiness and personal citizens- has spent-borrowed trillions of dollars and a year later nothing is getting better.
So Obama you have another 6 to 8 months to show if your policy worked as well as Reagan's.
And Reagan also managed to defeat the Evil=Empire and watch the Berlin Wall crumble.

I have to agree with you RONALD REAGAN SET UP THE CRASH WE ARE IN AT THE MOMENT, AND THE ONLY WAY TO RECOVER FROM IT IS TO CHANGE THE LANDSCAPE.

Oh, you DID SAY THAT. Don't even think of denying it. The reason for this recession has nothing to do with a jobless recovery PRECEDING IT. It does have everything to do with a SERIES OF BUBBLES BURSTING. And the bubbles were engineered and built and nurtured by the very same policies that gave BUSH senior ALL his political troubles.

Karl, the old socialist Obama Hope and Change will bring back America. Karl, take some time away form trying to resue Obama from his presidential fiasco. Check the economic numbers Reagan inherited form the former worst president in American history Liberal- Carter{Obozo is about to take the title away.
The Carter diaster of course was not his fault either- right, Karl- so, Karl what consevative was responsible?.

17 years of unmatched economic growth for America, proven by the numbers and lefist-loons continue to make fools of themselves in lying about the truth.
