Is our physical reality on this planet all that we are or are we far more than the sum of our physical parts? The fact is that neither science nor religions can prove or disprove beyond a shadow of a doubt that either of these concepts are valid. All we really know is that we exist in a physical form within this physical environment as we experience events within the context of our physical life span. Even the history of mankind is riddled with subjective interpretations defined by a perception based understanding of what we choose to accept within the context of our needs. That we will all leave this physical life at some point despite what you may choose to believe in is also inevitable-:).
Given these facts of our existence it's only in the last hundred years through science and the use of technology that the concept of "we are far more than the sum of our physical parts", has gained significant prominence, interest and acceptance by the general public. The term we use for this concept is the paranormal. In understanding the term paranormal it is not ghosts, spirits, aliens or a creator we need to look for but the energy of life that defines physical existence.
When you come right down to it even the concept of religious beliefs is based on a paranormal concept. This would suggest that no matter what we choose to believe the concept of a paranormal reality is very much a part of our lives. Ask yourself this one question and try to answer it to the best of your ability. If our sun and the earths magma core was removed from this planets equation could life as we understand it still exist here. The simple fact is without energy there is no sustainable life as we understand it possible! This planet would become a frozen wasteland.
Now once you bring energy back into the equation such as an energy life form, which we might refer to as the creator then life as we understand it is once again possible. One might suggest the sun as the source of our life force, as was once believed but then we can already replicate the sun's composition yet we can't recreate the energy life force that sustains life on this planet. Cloning an organism has been done by scientific means although this is no more than every other species does naturally with better results. Cloning is not creating life, it is only creating a vessel for life. Naturally you can disagree with this concept but you can not disprove it.

If you have a vision of an angel, is the objective reality (angel) real or just your subjective interpretation based on perception?
I'd say the answer is "REAL". But that's just from my VISION or perception.
"Our physical reality verses a paranormal concept" . . .
Since God is SUPERNATURAL, wouldn't it seem normal that those who believe in God would SEE and lean more towards the side of "a paranormal concept"? ~ naturally.

Your statement presupposes a logical and rational sequence although human nature (how we are taught) challanges this concept in real life. Most people still believe in the concept of good and evil, a subjective interpretation in terms of survival. This is one reasons I perfer to accept a true to life concept as opposed to a true to death concept for living.
Just because someone chooses to believe in God/Jesus does not indicate a leaning towards the supernatural, in fact you would find the opposite to be true in most cases should you ever do a survey about this subject.
The reality is that most people are extremely fearful when encountering a paranormal event which is usually due to the lack of any definitive understanding; people in general do not equate a belief in God/Jesus in a paranormal context because to them their beliefs are based on an historical event as opposed to subjective myth and superstition. Doesen't make sense does it? Although this is slowly changing as people gain a better understanding of themselves.
I believe they do. At least I do.
I disagree with you on this . . . "Just because someone chooses to believe in God/Jesus does not indicate a leaning towards the supernatural, in fact you would find the opposite to be true in most cases should you ever do a survey about this subject." ~ Richard Regener
God is SUPERNATURAL. How did you come to the above conclusion? I believe you a dead wrong on this.
You're not in "touch" with those who BELIEVE in God. It appears that you are off base on this as well . . . "The reality is that most people are extremely fearful when encountering a paranormal event which is usually due to the lack of any definitive understanding; people in general do not equate a belief in God/Jesus in a paranormal context because to them their beliefs are based on an historical event as opposed to subjective myth and superstition." ~ Richard Regener
To encounter God/Jesus IS a PARANORMAL EVENT. A SUPERNATURAL EXPERIENCE. Have you ever encountered God Richard?
Yes to this Richard ~ ""Since God is SUPERNATURAL, wouldn't it seem normal that those who believe in God would SEE and lean more towards the side of "a paranormal concept"? ~ naturally." ~ Richard Regener
I believe they do. At least I do. (Rene)
I live in a predominatly religious area of southern Ontario and the majority of people here that I know do not share a strong belief in the supernatural, ghosts ext... despite their personal belief in God/Jesus. Hard to understand is it not? When I ask them about the Holy Ghost, Jesus, the definision of love ect... the usual response is scripture and the mindset blind faith. No offence intended.
Take for example my definision of love; The all encompassing purveyor of passion that includes protection, honor, loyalty, integrity, self sacrifice, supportive, equality, respect and trust by each party. If you have a better definision i'd like to hear it. The reality is most people can't even define their own concept of love let alone live according to the dictates of their own interpretation of love if the have one. As to the Holy Ghost i've been told this was is only a singular event created by god to show us his power. BS in my book.
God is SUPERNATURAL. How did you come to the above conclusion? I believe you a dead wrong on this. (Rene)
I came to this conclusion based on the definision of god by religious groups that can't see beyond their own power mad greed that do more harm then promoting a true to life existence without slavery to an ideal. The same can be said for Jesus who believed the only pathway to god was through his insufferable arrogance, himself!. History tends to prove my point.
You may disagree with this and that's your privilige, however the concept of love is only one stage in our growth of understanding and to limit one's understanding to this concept is to develop a mindset of stagnation and limited growth.
Yes I have experienced god in my existence through my pain and suffering, through my survival, through my growth in understanding, through my developed ability of independence and self reliance, through my creativity and through my ability to see beyond this physical existence of learning. I see god everyday in all things; the good, bad and the ugly. A divine creation for a true to life existence.
