This is really amazing footage of a flight to 70,000 ft.
I particularly like the final words to this video.
So true, it would change the view on politics, religion and care for the planet if everyone could just go up and have a look!
How can anyone doubt the science of Evolution vs Creationism and the Big Bang theory after seeing this?
Take an emotional ride in this YouTube video. James May is best known as the host of Top Gear. He’s used to trying out the latest high-performance cars. But he recently took a ride in a U-2 spy plane.
The U-2 can literally fly to the edge of space. May was taken up to 70,000 feet. That’s twice as high as an average airliner flies. The view from up there is utterly spectacular. May is deeply moved by the experience. And you will be too.

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious, burning blue,
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or even eagle flew -
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untresspassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

Beautiful post G.
On August 16, 1960, Kittinger jumped his last Excelsior jump, doing so from an air-thin height of 102,800 feet (31,334 meters). From that nearly 20 miles altitude, his tumble toward terra firma took some 4 minutes and 36 seconds. Exceeding the speed of sound during the fall, Kittinger used a small stabilizing chute before a larger, main parachute opened in the denser atmosphere.
I was just saying, if I get famous and rich enough; it could be done. I hope you would join me.
Then you came back with the correct info.
I was wondering if the "m'lady" comment followed by the 'hon' comment was by accident or condescension.
Got my answer didn't I.
G and I have been friends for quite a long while and as soon as I realized my slight error, I came back to, in fact, tell her the audio was correct.
I gracefully exit, redfaced!

The tip off should have been Hal Holbrook heading up the space agency. He is usually either a kindly soul, or evil to the core! LOL.
The movie had a bit of a resurgence quite a few years back following an infamous trial... People rented it again because O.J. gets offed in the movie.
