For the past few months, I've been working on a book. I think I have a great idea for a book that could be helpful to many people. I've written a lot of it out, but mostly have outlines made as of right now. But, I'm wondering how to get my book published? How do I even get someone to give me a chance? Where do I begin in the process to being a published author? When the book is completed, it will probably be between 150-200 pages.

Self publishing is also an option. Lots and lots of people use Lu Lu . There's more.
It takes a lot of time to snoop and try and find a fit, and then endure rejections before you move on and do it again. maybe you'll make it, maybe you won't - who knows. It's all part skill, part luck, part timing.
Find a publisher that publishes similar type or similar genre books
Walker and I self published. We used lulu.com to get the book printed, and we got an ISBN through them too, thus allowing the bookstore databases to pick it up. Walker and I both went this route with lulu.com
Walker and I also started a website for our work, and we are adding links to pages that we have created for authors that we know personally. Our friend Savo Heleta is on Gather and has a page on our page, and if you get your book done, we'll give you a link on there too. We are keeping it exclusively for authors we know personally.
