President Barack Obama attempted to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. He went to Denmark and spoke the IOC. He desired for his hometown city of Chicago to get the prestigious 2016 Summer Olympics bid.
However, his efforts were tharwted. Chicago and Tokyo were quickly eliminated leaving Rio De Janiero (Brazil) and Madrid (Spain) as the last two qualifiers. These cities had issues of their own with Rio's horrid homeless children and brutal, street crime history. If you watched City of God, you would've gotten my drift. Madrid felt the wrath of Al Qaeda only a few years ago. Their train stations were blown up by homicide bombers leaving over a thousand killed or injured.
So why did Chicago get nixed?
Well, a YouTube video recently showed up that may have swayed the IOC. Last weekend, a 16 year old, honor student was beaten and stomped to death in a brazen attack. The victim was black. His assailants were black. And, the crime shocked and outraged a city already hardened to senseless violence.
Maybe, Europeans fretted over being victims of street crime. Maybe, they feared violent juveniles more than Al Qaeda terrorists. Maybe, Four Corner Hustlers, Vice Lords, Gang Disciples and Latin Kings made more blood curl than images of Osama Bin Laden or Al Zawarqai.
Whatever the case, the final qualifiers included a city with cops allegedly working as off-duty assassins to kill off homeless, street kids and one in an Al Qaeda recruitment video.
I guess black people will be scapegoats for this one!

For the 1st time in history we are seen as a 3rd world country that is in total meltdown. The once Great and powerful American Eagle is looking pretty battered to the rest of the world!
Also, if the world wants to award a nation that kills homeless kids, so be it.
