When we shift the consequence of Gandhi from East to west it seems the West is waking up to the teachings and philosophy of Gandhi, the modern-era saint. At the individual level, Bapu (Mahatma Gandhi) has a significant influence. Rising number of courses on Gandhian thought in the Universities and the colleges, in the US can be seen today. In this context about 50 universities and colleges in the US have launched courses in Gandhism in the last few years. Among the leading institutions in America, University of West Virginia, University of Hawaii, George Mason University and many more have started courses. .
Recently the Harvard School of Business Management has recognized Gandhi as the 'Management Guru' of the 20th century.
"The West has reached an extreme stage of development, progress and over-indulgence. Now they are trying to back to simplicity. In this mission, they are looking for the route in Gandhism".
"Gandhi was all along a popular figure among the people in the West. He was a product of the West, who later got disheartened with the West's culture, which tended to discriminate people on the basis of colors. In Berlin, a school was renamed after Gandhi following demand by the students."
Lieah Wells, a scholar of Gandhian Studies, has formed a core group of 10,000 students in California recently to learn and spread Gandhism.
When we see the poll, majority of the people said that they had no time for to memorize Gandhi. They are confirm with their views and admit to be unable to co-relate Gandhi with their generation.
On this what to be said? Is India actually loosing the main beliefs of Gandhi? For the younger generations our Political leaders and Policy makers should try to make Gandhian thoughts relevant. Forgetting the 'Father of Nation' does not sign well for the cultural development of young India. About the great leaders in the past ,Young India should know .Why the young generation of India is turning so rebellious, hostile and do have little respect for the Indian culture, tradition as well as social values. It is a Question that why our Society is completely failed in doing so. ….What happened that people started forgetting about the Non-violent form of protest advocated by Leo Tolstoy and adopted by Mahatma Gandhi against an oppressive British regime helped India attain freedom and Nelson Mandela following the same principles was able to dismantle apartheid in South Africa.
Indian cinema is helping us to know Gandhi again and again and is working for not to forget easily what he was. A movie name "Maine Gandhi ko nahi maara" (I have not killed Gandhi) is the most appreciated one.
Everyone is hectic making money at the cost of ethics. Virtues like honesty, non-violence, tolerance -- that were once the hallmark of strong moral fibre -- are mere feel-good words now. How did Gandhi fade away? How did the Father of the Nation get reduced to just a road, a stamp, and a statue? 'You remember me only on two days, October 2 and January 30,'
In this milieu we can see Movies helping to project Gandhi. If Gandhi would have lived today what would have been the ways of teachings. Recently a movie called “Lage raho Munna bhai” (Come on Brother Munna) is an enormous and incredible example of this. This is not mere a film but a new kind of teaching for young generation India who is on the brink of loosing the sagacity and quintessence of 'Gandhi an' Philosophy'.
Story starts where the character Munna fall in love with a radio announcer and to participate in her Quiz contest on Gandhi and just to meet her, he visits to a library and starts understanding and learning about Gandhi. Gandhi Ji is no more among us today, it's all that Munna has read the thoughts of Gandhi Ji and he thinks that Gandhi Ji is always with him. And the enchantment begins here. A luminous concept with the hard message in a lighter way. After knowing Gandhi there was some chemical activities in his mind and he starts behaving as he can see Gandhi, can talk to him and solve everybody's questions and problems with the help of Gandhi ji and more outstandingly only Munna can see him. No one else can converse Gandhi and it started working and effecting people in sorting out there problems.
The most imperative part of the film was that the "hidden" Gandhi Ji was once while munna was talking in a press conference Gandhi ji was not answering to Munna's question. The Psychiatrist says that this is the figment of his imagination that Munna is seeing Gandhi ji only when he needs his support and ideas (.It’s a psychological state of mind which is called “Hallucination”. A hallucination is the brain’s reception of a false sensory input .This essentially means that the person having a hallucination is experiencing an event through one of their senses that is not occurring in the real world). It's up to his reading and knowledge about Gandhi. We can breathe Gandhi if we live his philosophy, his methods, and his values. Everyone knows Gandhi Ji and his thoughts. Therefore, why don't we realize the essence of Gandhism in our day-to-day life?

Gandhi is the same as all great, inspiratioinal leaders who have influenced the world, and world-thought in that he is timeless, and his contributions to humanity are everlasting.
Thanks Neeetah sis for showering your love on everyone.
Gandhi ji ki salgirah mubarak ho..
Thank you!
I too saw the horrible news about India this morning. So much devistation.
We both like:
Basketball (I know you're a Pistons fan). Btw: Kobe is a city in Japan or a special kind of beef. Holy cow!!! No, I don't eat the stuff. I eat pumpkin curry and yams. Not really, but one can dream.
Snow: Yes, we both like it and I know you want to go to Lake Tahoe, not to ski, but to shovel snow for those people surely will make snowballs and start snowball fights if you don't. You are doing a public service and maybe Arnold might drop by, not as a UPS man, but as someone who is hungry and needs pumpkin curry.
Bad hair days: You of course don't have any and neither do I.
See, we are pals and I think my neighbor is making pumpkin curry.
