Ha! I love it. Except, unlike Donna, I see it as meaning the Doc. gave it to you, and you're giving it back to him! Too spunky to park in the handicapped spot. Exercise!

Only reason I got it is because there are more cars than spaces where I live, and I have an arthritic spine, I can walk okay but not carry stuff too far, but
we have corrections officers living over us, four of them strapping young guys, who work all hours, and the minute I go out, one of them jumps in my spot.
I live up about 15 stairs too, so need not to have to carry stuff far. I don't use it when I go to the grocery stores I figure there are more handicapped people than me, and I can lean on the cart for support. I am going to try and train for the 26 mile marathon next year, lol. Thanks Ellie for your confidence in my ability,

I know how it feels - we had that tag for my Dad for years - he was in a wheelchair after a stroke - and I know how happy it made us when some young kid took the slot and we had to push from far away :-(

you've left notes and they still do it? bad bad guys. What about reporting them to the ...whatever....DMV? local police? So they can get a ticket. Or call the police to ticket them when you see their car. I would do that in a flash. I live in a crowded area and when people park across from the driveway so that I cannot get out easily, I ring their bell and tell them they cannot do that - that it is illegal, and that they need to stop doing that, otherwise the police will tow them.

I parked yesterday visiting a student and said, I cannot park here. It is resident permit parking only. She said, I have a visitor's permit for you. Thank you.

If the person does not have a handicap license or sign, then take down the license plate number and report it to the police. The fine for such illegal parking is stiff.

I've somewhat had it with Gather. It seems that they only way to get a wide readership is to join a group like snippets. I'm too much of a free spirit to be confined to a single topic. I know when I write something of better than average quality and I'm simply miffed I got so few comments on my Mary Travers story. I like you and a few friends, but I'm not wasting my time writing for a dwindling audience. My creativity feeds off comments. I've not been very creative lately and I don't get online much because I have better things to do.

We have a handicap liscense plate. One grocery store actually has some available when we go there. Possibly the Hospital.

Elsie, I'll loan you my husband, Tall, Grey and Gruesome. Whenever we're out shopping and a car with no handicap designation parks in a handicap spot, he walks over to the driver's window, knocks, and says, "You'd better be limping when you get out." Nine times out of ten, they feel the sudden urge to park somewhere else! LOL. This piece is priceless.

I have a tag in my car--not for me. I'm amazed by how many people who ride with me think I should use it for their convenience, because I happen to have it for someone who really does need it.
