OK, so the evidence of anthropogenic global warming is a little spotty and controversial. But...can we really afford NOT to prepare ourselves? Shouldn't we spend billions of tax payers' money protecting ourselves just in case?
This is the latest grasp at a straw that I have been hearing from the AGW alarmists. It seems that when the science fails to back them up, they move the goalpost once again.
Apparently, we nolonger need proof of anthropogenic global warming (AGW). We only need an assertion that it might happen, so we better prepare for disaster "just in case!"
Well, that brings me to my question:
Shouldn't our government spend billions of taxpayers' money preparing for the second coming of Christ or Armageddon? I freely admit the scientific evidence supporting this scenario is spotty if not missing altogether, but...shouldn't we prepare ourselves just in case?
What about an invasion from purple-people-eating body snatchers from outer space? Shouldn't we at least spend a trillion on that crisis? Yes, I'll admit the evidence in support ain't much better than the IPCC's hockey stick chart, but what if? What if?
Can we afford NOT to prepare ourselves for every crisis someone dreams up?

Bankrupt we are, by legal standards but that ability to print money and steal more from the struggling taxpayers seems to blind the idiots quite well.....
Even if the purple-people-eating body snatchers from outer space don't invade us, there are plenty of other disasters that will eventually happen. I really was hoping by the time I got to 50, we'd have our own spaceships to take us out of here incase of Global disaster or overpopulation. At least a device to beam me out of here when the time comes. Nope, they can't work on our Space program. But we can put some game in our playstation 3 and pretend. Scary it is.
