Do you have Windows Defender on your computer ???

I've had mine now since it came out.  It has never told me that it has caught anything.

 

I also have Norton.  Sometimes Norton tells me I have a "low level" cookie and asks if I want to get rid of it.  I do.  It comes back sometimes.  I get rid of it again.  I wonder why it doesn't just erase it by itself when it spots it.  Why would I know if I want to keep it or not.  I don't know how these things work, at all, actually.  Not really.  I'll erase anything if you tell me it's there and I can - ha ha ha ...

I don't have Windows Defender. I'm not sure what I have on my home computer. My husband and kid have blown up the computer twice, and his brother installed something on it for us. It still runs slow!!

"Protectors" make your computer run slow, I think. They're taking all that time "protecting."

We had Norton and it didn't work worth a darn. We switched to McAfee and it pretty much runs itself.

get rid of Norton and get the free avast, windows defender has never defended my windows and ive had it three years. avast always works great Norton is a POS so use caution using it

No I had it for a while and it caused so much trouble that I un-installed it after 6 months. I use Online Armor { http://www.tallemu.com/} I have had it, the free for single users for a couple of years. No problems at all!

I have Norton and it seems to work fine. Never tried Defender.

As far as I can tell it's all working fine for me, too. But I'm still nervous. And I'm mostly just on Gather - how bad can things get here ???

I have it but disabled it. Between antivirus, malware and spyware programs I don't feel I need this too.

My antivirus which is also for the internet and email scanning is always running. I use Malwarebytes a couple of times a month but it is not constantly scanning. I also have Spybot running but it doesn't use up much resources.
I've been happy with mine for years now~I also have the CLEANER to get rid of any nuisances~

I have defender and norton. I've used norton as my antivirus program - paid version - for 8 years now, 6 on this computer, with no issues whatsoever. Friends that swear by their other antivirus programs have contracted viruses over the years - none for me! Peter, you can change the settings with norton so that it automatically removes, repairs, and so forth without notifying you...that's how I have mine set.

defender came as an add on to windows, to help remove "bad programs"
I have set my pc's to reject third party cookies. (That means they are not from the web page sponsor's of that page. BUT they have an ad on it.)
I also have it set to where I have to accept a cookie from a site if it is the first time visiting,

I turned my Windows Defender off because it was interfering with something else. Norton always finds a low level cookie. Just say to fix it. No biggie.

Norton "does me" fine. I also occasionally use AdAware and Windows Washer.
