This is for anyone who has ever said Jesus was a 'great and inspirational teacher' but have stopped short of proclaiming who He proclaimed to be.

 

His Doubters Confirm His Deity

He said He was the Son of God

Which was the truth, a lie or mere fantasy

Those are the choices that he offered

To make it impossible for Him

To be heralded as only a

Great Teacher – because He knew

Future tongues would profess

 

No great teacher would lie to his students

Or stand under gaze and

Blaspheme God.

For blasphemers and liars do not

Great teachers make

 

Insanity would be to think you

Are God – If you are not.

Insanity is not a breeding ground

For

Philosophic heroes – Ponder that

 

By your own tongues – by

Claiming Him a Great Teacher

You have let us know

That Truth

Is what He spoke!

And a silence descends

Over the listeners.

"He said He was the Son of God" and he said "these things and more you shall do" meaning that we are all sons (and daughters) of God.

There never was such a personal proclamation.
Jesus proclaimed the good news of "knowing God, and yourself as a son of God."
By the spirit fruits of your lives impel souls to believe the truth that man is a son of God, and that all men are brethren.
The concept of God as a Father was not original with Jesus, but he exalted and elevated the idea into a sublime experience by achieving a new revelation of God and by proclaiming that every mortal creature is a child of this Father of love, a son of God.

The Bible foretold of him in many prophecy. He mentions his Godly lineage several times.

Richard, a lot of people say that he never proclaimed to be anything. But I thought of these verses when I read what you wrote. I am not a theologian, but this is how I see them.


John 4:26- I who speak to you am he.


And his disciples would have known this reference at the Passover (the Last Supper) ...


Matthew 26:26-28:

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body. And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.


But there are more. The most important is what you realize when you know him yourself.

Which is my point. He could only be the greatest teacher if he was in fact the Christ and He was telling the Truth. But those who see Him as only a great teacher, my logic proves they are incorrect.
