My favorite Farmers Market Photos from the 2009...

I've been shopping farmers markets in Western Washington this season and found some amazing new products and fresh produce for preserving for winter. I thought I would share some of my favorite market photos:

Rainbow Swiss Chard is the most beautiful thing = anyone have any good recipes?

I LOVE these pepper wreaths :)

I could NOT believe the size of these beets ... like the size of my head, really!

There is just not enough to the donut peaches ... they leave me wanting MORE!

The fresh cut flowers at the Washington Farmers Markets are AMAZING

At the Bothel, WA Market there is a cute little Village of shops with cute floral gardens and ponds

These radishes were such an amazing PURPLE color :)

I made yummy Peach-Apricot preserves, mmmmmm

I love Fall it means PUMPKINS...

My best friend loves these Golden Beets

I love bell peppers - this year was the first time I had seen purple and brown bell peppers. I think they tasted sweeter more like the red peppers than green

I was told the uglier the heirloom tomato looks the better it tastes

This was the most beautiful cauliflower :)

and cherry tomatoes (or is that grape or pear...?)

This pasta is a THING OF BEAUTY ... Pappardelle's (only available at Farmers Markets or specialty stores = google it, you won't be dissatisfied) They have a dark chocolate to serve as a dessert with ice cream that is toooooo die for! And a mixed fruit flavors (lime, cantelope, orange...) that boiled & cooled is served with fruit for a fruit salad.

This was at the Bothel, WA shopping center Market = I loved the old door

Mmmmm, the peaches from Washington are the best!

I am hungry now, Jan! These photos are beautiful. The colors are so sharp and bright. The veggies, flowers and fruits look so appealing. I miss the farmer's market in my old hometown.

Wow. I wouldn't know how to cook half that stuff! Purple cauliflower? Does it taste the same? I never saw peppers in those colors, either. Maybe someday I'll have a life again and I can shop at a farmer's market.

I have tried all the colors of the peppers and I think they taste sweeter than the green ones = like red bell peppers. I didn't buy the purple cauliflower :) Maybe next time!

You're right about being hungry now! Love the picture of the door too. The produce photos are wonderful as usual. I like that you include the prices on the produce on many of your images. It's nice to know how much things are in different parts of the country. The pepper wreaths are amazing. . .too bad I'm so allergic to peppers!
