Is Manny Costing Gather Money Or Making It?

Lets be honest, while we all come here and prattle on about things large and small, make friends, enemies and frenemies and allow gather to supply all the bandwidth and the pc power that it takes to run this stuff they need to make money.

I have noticed that all the adsense ads I have seen this evening have been for Manny party supplies. Now apart from the adsense ads being in a bad position which I assume is because they have tried many different areas for them, are manny ads going to pay well on adsense?

I wonder if all this talk of manny is losing money for gather?

Maybe they should have done a deal with disney, the more people talk about Manny the more you pay..

The way they have this ad is designed so poorly, it is going to want to make people boycott the show, instead of getting people to watch it.

I must be the only person who likes the Manny ads. I think they are so cute and so clever. I've only accidently clicked on him twice. I like to watch him drive across my comments. It sometimes reflects my opinion. LOL

I may change my mind if he's still around in two weeks. LOL

I think they changed the presentation of the ad so he isnt running across the screen when we are trying to post. Thank goodness for that!

All I can say this ad is adnasuem! While trying to read your post even that blasted thing ran across the screen. Grrrrrrr! There are ways to make revenue, but irking people isn't the way to go in my opinion.

from the reaction of all the post complaining about Manny today...I feel that most of us have a negative image of the product and will run the other way.

The Manny ad is annoying to the extreme! I hate ads that pop up in places where I am trying to read or see a picture. I think it is way overboard! Keep the ads on the side bars.

Yay - I just installed the adblock plus for the Firefox browser and it took care of the annoying ad. I had forgotten about that program and it seems to be better than it used to be - taking care of this ad quickly :)

As someone who makes a living from selling stuff online I hate these blockers. As someone who gets annoyed by ads, I love them..

Its a very confusing life I lead..

I made mention on that last such post that the ad was no longer on my page...but well...it was on the next page. It's only annoying because you almost can't help but roll over it and make it pop out.

We avoid teh disney channel as much as possible, the only kids TV we have on is Sprout which is PBS. My daughters only 2 so its a bit easier.

We are actually talking about cutting cable altogether and just hook up a pc to the TV.

Well, the dog one popped up too... I don't recall seeing anyone complain about that. The way I see it is that gather offers us a free services... and we get paid to use it. They have to fund the program somehow, an annoying up up is the way they do it, then let them do it... BUT DON'T STOP THE POINTS!
