Means to follow your heart

Trusting your love

From the very start

Being in love

Means support with a name

And being up front

Never playing a game

Being in love

Means a partner to be

But that doesn’t mean

You will always agree

Being in love

Means being on fire

Looking at them

And seeing desire

Being in love

Is a whole new world

Full of exciting feelings

Always being unfurled

Being in love

Should not bring such pain

And is wrong if it happens

Over and over again

Being in love

Should not mean control

Or giving yourself up

Heart and soul

Being in love

Can be so much good

As long as both give

Like true love should

You are so right. It is a shame it doesn't always work out that way. With love the person should accept you and how you are .Not try to change you. Very good poem and to the point.

Very nice self definition expression in verse. In the Wizard of Oz, the wizard tells the Tin man, 'A heart of love is measured by those who love you.' (I'm paraphrasing).

Excellent paraphrase, and I think that is why the Tin Man was always one of my favorite characters...Oddly enough, my first boyfriend later played the Tin Man in a school production of it...LOL

It is so human to fall in love and yet we seem to not remain in that state for a lifetime. Would it not be a great thing, a social experiment to find those who have managed to stay in live really stayed in love with one person like one can stay true to a favorite color or food or your children. I will always love ice-cream--really great ice-cream yet, humans have a lust, then Love,then like then...there is a curve until the last thing you want to see is "That human".

I am so curious about certain human emotions and their shelf-lives.
