History of my Family

For month now I am bugging my mom in germany to tell me more about our family history and the pictures she did send to me. This picture was taken in 1939 on my grandparents silver anniversary. My mom is the smallest child in this picture and was 8 years old at that time. She and her sister beside her are 1 year apart and the last living family members of this picture. There were 2 more children, but they died shortly after childbirth.

I love viewing historic photographs, whetehr personal history or public. Whereabouts in Germany? I have good friends in Essen and hope to visit them next yearif my finances are realigned positively.
