I had this great idea for a myth, so here it goes.
Once upon a time, in the village of Autumn, there was a family who loved to play and laugh. The only problem was when the hot weather came to an end, just before the weather got cold. This was before seasons ever had their names. It always looked so dreary outside. The temperatures were much nicer than in the extrem hot or extreme cold. But, this family wondered how they could make it more beautiful to look at.
That is when they decided to get the other members of the village together. They got their paint buckets out, and began painting all the leaves beautiful colors of yellow, orange, red, brown, and all shades in between. With all the hard work they had done, they decided to name the in between season "autumn", after the village that worked so hard to make it beautiful.
Mother Nature loved the look so much, she decided to keep the colors. So, every fall, the leaves still change to honor the little village of Autumn.

I hope you see the problem with what you've done. Now you have to come up with reasons for the names of the other seasons. Good luck.
God has a daughter with with his sister, Demeter. Persephone is a beautiful child, kidnapped by God's brother, to live and reign in the underworld. Heartbroken at the loss of her daughter, Demeter roams the Earth in search of her, cursing, her melancholy causing all crops to fade and wither, no longer able to grow or renew.
God takes pity on his sister, striking a deal with his brother: Persephone will spend half the year with her mother, filling Demeter's heart with joy, crops overflowing. The other half of the year, Demeter's melancholy grips the Earth.
