Oh my goodness.....it's always something when one owns a vehicle.....be it old or new. It seems that, by now, with my 1999 Ford Escort Sports SE that I should have a brand new car, with all the $$$$ and repairs we've put into it! Thing is, I love this little car........it's loaded, with everything on it, gets great gas mileage (35 to 40 mpg), and rides really nicely.
I've been having major brake problems..........well, to get a brake job at one of the places around here would be horrendous.........laborwise. Soooooo, hubby went to an auto parts store early this morning after getting off work and got some new brake pads and rotors.....poor guy has been working ALL day long on the brakes (except for a break to take me to the post office, and then we stopped to get lunch at Taco Johns!).......he's still not done yet, but is getting closer!
Fortunately, we have a good neighbor across the street who gave hubby some advice on how to do the rotors.....he also lent hubby a couple of his tools, as he's always working on cars. He would of helped more but he had to go to court today.
Soooooo, hopefully by sometime tomorrow, my car will be up and running again......I got really tired, and somewhat nervous about all the constant "grinding" I was hearing when I'd use my brakes!

It really is very expensive to get them done by a "real" mechanic.
