A prime attraction in Fremantle is the Market. Housed in an old warehouse, the market was opened in 1893. Today it draws huge crowds looking for everything from craft items to vegetables, jewellery and antiques. Magi and I had fun exploring all the many shops and displays. The market is only open on Friday, Saturdays and Sundays.

Here I bought a chocolate covered cherry.

No, I didn't need a Persian rug....

nor a jigsaw puzzle.

But these twirly glass balls might just look good in Magi's patio, The Devil's Tea House.

Several of these candles might look good in Mr. Beezlebub's Pub.

How about a Tornado Potato?

These Thai coconut balls look delicious.

Look at these leather change holders. They would be great to hold my Australian change. I think I might buy one.

Our bellies full, our money all spent, we leave the Market. Outside a young man is playing an aborigine digeroo to send us on our way to a new adventure at the boat harbour.

I love these types of markets of all things. New Orleans and Charleston SC have very similar places.
The markets are my favourite place in Fremantle, and that is saying something.
But yes, he does love his baubles, his flowers and his "Discovery" Channel on TV. And he is an avid football fan, even though he protests he isn't. You should of seen him yesterday afternoon cheering for the underdog!
A potato tornado is something the stall owners dreamed up - peeled, curled potato that has been deep fried. I've never tried one.
My garden needs new thingamajiggies.
Yeah, the Freo Market's a place I'd probably be reluctant to leave, too!
I think I will pass on the pickled eggs and pig's feet! Lol
Ooo... I love places like this! The first one that comes to mind immediately is Soulard Market in St. Louis, Missouri. That is an awesome place, I love visiting it whenever we are in St. Louis! They have over 150 vendors selling everything from designer clothes and accessories to fruits, vegies and nuts and of course, the ever present tacky souvenirs. The food vendors are as varied as the ethnic neighborhoods in the city... I could graze my way from chef to chef or gobble up fresh-baked goods in abundance. YUM!
Boy, this sure looks like a most satisfying holiday!
Love the glass decorations...and yes..please show us Magi's patio..you have said such nice things about it, now I want to see it.
And I remember Magi once said that there's never any speck of dust in HIS house!
Magi, care to come over here, on a flying broom, once a week??
(And I'm impressed that Magi keeps an organized household---means I could use a clean kitchen, eh?)
