I received an email from Carolion's daughter, Corrie, and she asked me in a second email to post a note to Gather friends. I may not be connected to everyone Carolion is connected to, but I will try to make sure her friends all get the word. For this reason I am sending this to some groups Carolion is fond of.

Here is the email I received from Corrie:


Dear far-flung friends and family of Carolion,

I took down this note this afternoon with the information that Carolion wants you all to have.  I know this news will hit many of you out of the blue, as it has hit her family during the past three weeks.  My young daughter Tiger Jane and I have come to stay with Mom  in Yellow Springs for as long as we need to be here, and to bring her comfort and care. 

We welcome your notes and good thoughts, but ask that you hold your calls, as phone calls are especially exhausting for her right now.  She has a special fondness for cards with beautiful photos of nature and animals (of course).

Here's the note:

I thank each and every one of you for your friendship and goodwill.  I recently underwent emergency surgery for colon cancer which has also spread to my liver.  I have chosen not to undergo radiation or chemotherapy and am very happy about this.  I am currently living in the miracle of my family healing.  I thank you for your prayers and good wishes and ask that all energy be directed toward assisting my family in grace and love through the transition process we know as deathing.  For those who are interested, I highly recommend a very practical book which contains a method for helping people become coaches for death and dying:  "Deathing", by Anya Foos-Graber.  This is a celebration.

the docs gave Mom "three to six months" to live... she refused all treatment.

two and a half years later she passed quietly here at home having had just a couple bad months.
doctors are, often as not, in the death business.

I, for one, have thrilled to the positive energy she has inflated on the pages of Gather and in my own life. I knew she had someone in mind, with respect to cancer, but I had NO IDEA that she was speaking of herself. She left a reference link on one of my "cancer" articles . . .and isn't it just like her -- to have others in mind when she is going through it.

I was someone who benefited from three long conversations with Carolion in the past year about energy and all sorts of spiritual issues. Those were the kind of conversations one is lucky to find once in a lifetime and the depth of the way she blessed me will linger with me throughout whatever remains of my life. I have an old friend here who was also diagnosed with this dreadful disease and underwent surgery and chemo and radiation and is now cancer free.
If she chooses to not bother, the Tibeten Book of the dead has some good information on crossing over as well.
