OK, Manilow fans, in case you haven't heard, Manilow T.V. debuts on Oct. 1. I just read the details today and I must say I'm a little disappointed.
I thought Manilow TV would be like YouTube, except all Barry Manilow. I figured we could watch his t.v. special from the 70s, see him on Good Morning America from 1984, maybe watch a performance of Copacabana from Vegas. Well, that's not how it works. One video will be posted. It will be a video longer than 10 minutes, but we're not guaranteed an hour or even 30 minutes and it's one video per month. See the difference?
The cost is $20 per month. That's $20 per video. And you can't download them...you can watch them more than once but you can't download to your computer.
Does anyone else think that's a little expensive. Things are tight right now for me like everyone else. Even in good, times, though, I think that's expensive. If you subscribe for two years, you could buy good seats and cheap airline tickets to see him in Vegas.
I do love Barry Manilow but I think I'm going to pass on this one. Is anyone subscribing?
