I got the day off due to the G-20 Summit, and used the extra time to go visit my new granddaughter, Cassidy.
She's incredibly cute, of course, and tiny. Her mom is only 4'10" and Cassidy was born via C-section. She was 6 pounds 9 ounces (and was deemed too large for her mom to have naturally, so that gives you an idea of just how small Cassidy's mother is).
She was born a week early, due to the G-20 Summit. Her mom and dad didn't want to worry about whether or not they'd be able to get to the hospital. Her original due date was today, September 24, 2009! So, she's "sort of" a Summit baby.
Considering this is my eldest son's child, I am amazed at how content the child is! My son was colicky from day 1, woke up twice every single night until he was 2 years old, and seemed to consider crying a vocation more than a hobby.
This little girl was peaceful and happy. I got to feed her (she cried a tiny little bit when she was hungry), and she is so dainty she doesn't even need to burp! LOL! It's been a very long time since I held such a young baby, and I have never held one so very small.
I think she's perfect. See what you think. :)
