moment, I just saw this report in
todays Fox online and I am
flabbergasted. to say the least MY
GRANDCHILDREN GO TO B.
BERNICE YOUNG SCHOOL.
I also had a relationship with the school because before I retired as Director of the YMCA this school was one of my Child Care Before & After Care centers, and many of my staff were TA's in this school. I even recognize the staff and some of the students!!!
Mind you I am not for or against OBAMA and I try to stay out of political discussions but my grandchildren should not be involved one way or another in propaganda for anybody!!!!
In the comment section please tell me what you would do if your kids went here. I plan on calling my adult children when they get home and let them read this for themselves I am sure they had no idea there children were being taught this.

The video shows nearly 20 young children taught a song overflowing with campaign slogans and praise for "Barack Hussein Obama," repeatedly chanting the president's name and celebrating his accomplishments, including his "great plans" to "make this country's economy No. 1 again."
The video identifies the kids as students at the B. Bernice Young Elementary School in Burlington, N.J., with taping taking place last June.
The song quotes directly from the spiritual "Jesus Loves the Little Children," though Jesus' name is replaced with Obama's: "He said red, yellow, black or white/All are equal in his sight. Barack Hussein Obama."
Among other lyrics, touting a fair-pay bill Obama signed in January: "He said we must be clear today/Equal work means equal pay."
The author of the full lyrics is unknown, but a woman -- possibly a teacher -- can be heard in the beginning of the video correcting and helping a student who has forgotten the words.

The office of the superintendent of Burlington Township School District did not provide comment or confirmation to FOXNews.com that the songs were recorded at B. Bernice Young Elementary when contacted by phone Thursday.
The video was originally posted Sept. 6, two days before Obama made an address to the nation's schoolchildren in which he praised the American education system as the best in the world and urged students to stay in school.
"At the end of the day, we can have the most dedicated teachers, the most supportive parents, and the best schools in the world," Obama said."
Please please tell me what you would do? I am going to talk to my adult kids first not sure if I have any standing to the school board as they are my grandkids.

This sounds, to me, like a plant. I don't think an actual Obama fan would do anything this silly, but it is the perfect thing for a Conservative think tank to plant. After all the controversy a motivational speech generated, any smart and devious Republican (Rove, anyone?) would realize that another school incident would cause ANOTHER more monstrous tissy which would further detract from real issues like health care.
It reminds me greatly of the McCain campaign worker who claimed she was attacked by a black man...it was a lie. Except this staging of mock support is much more insidious and much more likely to strike closer to home. I'm sure a lot of people will fall for it.
On a lighter note, it is always weird to see places you are intimately familiar with through the camera lens, isn't it?
BUT, I'm not sure I like the idea of changing a religous song about Jesus to the president's name - I think that might have children believe that the president = God and I am NOT ok with that!
GET over it ! we are fortunate enough to be blessed with a President who isn't one of the Good ole boys! There I said it !
The Jewish religion and other ones are taught in the schools my kids go to. None are which my beliefs are the beliefs of my children. But I have no problem them learning about other religion as in my opinion it teaches tolerances of others who are different.
I had to think about this but I think it is the same with Obama.. Your childrenlearn at school. Youas a parent or grandparent need to talk with your kids and answer any question they may have have and state your view and opinion.
I do think it was completely inappropriate for the video to be put on you tube, especially if the parents were not made aware & asked permission first.
I'm with you all the way. First of all, something like this should be preceded by several PTA meetings. The teachers are merely custodians of the children. They aren't the opinion-shapers.
I think that many of the commentators are very naive and don't see the greater picture IMHO. The first thing to understand is that Obama is a President and acts after long long discussions in the halls of politics. He's doing nothing on his own. If he did he would be a dictator...making the songs of praise very dangerous.
As a Senator he proposed only one motion in four years and lost.
PS What has Obama actually achieved? From where I sit I don't see much. They praised Washington for what he actually did but these transcribed religious songs are for what Obama has only shown some intentions...not actual deeds.
This simply doesn't make sense.

no, it wasn't. the original was taken during black history month and uploaded to youTube in june. if you have a better suggestion as to what an elementary class could do to celebrate black history month, i'd love to hear it.

The teacher overstepped her boundaries here. Actually I am a huge fan of Obama’s and like the song’s message, but I have to look at it fairly - how would I have reacted during the last administration if my kid had been taught a song praising George W. Bush? I can tell you I would have reacted the same way. A song about equality mentioning no one specifically, or several noteworthy people, would’ve been much more appropriate.
