Gather: Is it worth your time any longer?

any money is good money for me *sigh* even if it takes longer :(

It's worth coming to but not as often. A lot of the people I liked are gone. Even though there are their are contests, it's still not the same. It used to be a lot of fun. I don't post near as often.

It's good to pop into Gather for a few minutes here and there. Can't spend hours here, not that I have hours to spend :-)

It is sad alright, no comments nor many views, when the points left so all the friends that you have become acquainted with. I don't know where the have gone ,but i miss them.I have to post two or more posts a day to make 15 or 20 points.I used to get 3 to 400 emails per day now if get 10 that is a lot.

Sometimes, to be truthful, it gets to the point of almost being "boring"... what sometimes was fun, you are instead feel like pulling your hair out and screaming ....

That's sad to hear. I dont' really write for points, but I've been getting more comments and views than ever.

It is a bit like forums I imagine, people come and go, people move around from site to site.

It is also time for everyone to be back at school or college so that is no doubt reducing the amount of people who are missing in action.

I write because I love to write. If I can uplift someone, then it is worth my time. I sorely could use the gift cards right now with my husband's job ending in a few days, but it wouldn't solve a lot of problems but it may have helped some.

I will still be here because I love to write.

My points don't seem to updating. At least not much.

I do not care about the points or the miscellaneous. I care about people coming together to think !!!! We in America are being so dumbed into stupidity people continue to believe they are safe, comfortable and live their everyday lives without realizing how easily all of this can go away.
Politics is not a fun subject, however it is a serious part of being American. If we do not stand up for our morals and values they too will disappear. Gather is a place to speak up about anything, we still have free speech here unlike other places. Everyone who is part of Gather should care about what is going on in this country. We are only a few hundred years old and already we have defaced most of what this country was built on. Those that want change have to be part of the change. Nothing is free, especially our freedom. Be a part of your world not just a member of one family. SPeak with wisdom by studying what others have to say and form your own opinion. If you get points in the meanwhile, so be it but do not shut down the voices of the people around you.

I'm rarely on here Lora, I try to catch the threads of most that I used to but i rarely post as like you, I got hardly any comments and a lot was poetry with me and if no one is going to read it, I may look for other venues to share it but right now I have just been very busy with a lot of things.

You have to post something worth comenting on. Although I think the more controversial topics get more comments and views.

i never came in here for the money of gift certificates.....i use to enjoy the company and the people that use to enjoy my post....its has changed

I have found a certain amount of apathy here. I think the Gather folks should try something new. Facebook and Twitter have "gathered" up alot of the Gather people, I think! :)

The site has changed a little, but the amount of people on the site seems to be way down lately.

during the summer; people posted that the summer weather & activities were keeping people from gathering. now people are saying school being back in; people aren't gathering. pretty soon it will be the holidays as a reason for no gathering. then what? just wondering. :)

There are some good comments and points here. You guys are right on several levels. as for the person who said something worth commenting on. Read my past threads I have over 100 comments on some of em...so yeah I do post things worth commenting on as do many others here. Thanks for commenting here you all.

I think a lot of it has to do with the summer (summer slump) in terms of comments. I usually try to comment as much as possible but my time is limited because personal obligations.

I have debated this thought over myself. I decided that yes it is worth my time, regardless how slow my points add up. I have met some really awesome people here on Gather and I would truly miss them. so yes, it is worth my time. this is my special get away that no one else in my family has and I enjoy it.

well I miss some of the people who were good friends. At least I did consider them good friends. Maybe I was wrong.
