Good News on Billy's Travels, It Stopped Raining,

Billy is now just outside Oklahoma City. He left Missouri and headed south

through Kansas. He has had quite a bit of rain and cold, so changed his

route to go south. He called me about 4:45 this afternoon and said the

scenery on the Kansas Turnpike was breathtaking. He was so happy, he

was able to take his leather jacket off, it was so nice and warm. He

was going to try to make Wichita Falls, Texas tonight, but he said when

it got dark, there were so many pot holes he decided to check into a place

until morning. He is much happier now that he took this route, as weather

looks good all the way. He will go through New Mexico and then Nevada

and the tip of Nevada is about thirty miles from Sacramento or to the

road Suzi lives on. I can't wait until he land there safely, but it is making

a man of him, he's handling everything himself, and calling me once a day

because I made him promise me that he would. That's the latest on Billy.

Having a terrible time posting anything, have to edit to add a group now and then, but a lot of people have asked how he is doing, so here's the latest, gone a week ago tonight, and missing him, but happy because he sounds so great on the phone.

That's some trip. I can remember years ago driving with dry clothes and hot cocoa when my husband rode his motorcyle back and forth to work from Pa to NJ. When there was a downpour he would find a good place to stay until I could get there.

I hope he has good weather for the rest of his trip! Thanks for the update.

Good news, Elsie.
Glad he chose to go south. The weater along 80 in Nebraska is kind of wet and cold all this week. We get some nice sunshine everyday, but I don't think it would be very fun on a motorcycle. I also think that it is better for him than going thru the moutains out west at this time of year.
Hope he continues to have a good trip and that he reaches California in another day or two.

He is getting closer now. Maybe today he will get to California. This has sure been a long trip for him and I can understand him being anxious. I would not like that many alone days either. Especially in strange territory!!

It has rained here in deep east Texas for the last 5 days. Cool today too. Usually Wichita Falls is so much colder. He was lucky, God was watching over him.
So happy he is doing this good. I would be lonesome too.
