THAT EARNEST QUESTING CRAP
“Ennui has made more gamblers than avarice, more drunkards than
thirst, and perhaps as many suicides as despair.”--Buddha
“If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you
there.”--Lewis Carroll
“People who lead a lonely existence always have something on their
minds that they are eager to talk about.”--Chekhov
“Life is islands of ecstasy in an ocean of ennui, and after the age of
thirty land is seldom seen”. --Luke Rhinehart
“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what
will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all
help are you freed.”--Buddha
ENNUI
Don't you tire of New Orleans and on-the-ground accounts;
Of technical manuals with no music, and grout?
Aren't you weary of magic and CIA reports,
Marxist analysis and snappy retorts?
Has the pleasure of moonlight paled beneath the strobe?
Is there one place of peace on the whole fucking globe?
But perhaps you remember the one perfect rose
That grew in the garden, beneath the snow.

Russian Actress LUBOV SOKOLOVA appeared in at least 368 productions
from 1948 to 1999, but many of these were made for Soviet/Russian

447. CONTROVERSIES IN POPULAR CULTURE
HEAVEN
Heaven
Must baffle the swine
Who wallow
In their pen.
Those who will not join
Must turn away, but those
Who stay might yearn, and then
Repine.
