The Falcons look like a team that knows who they are and who knows who they are not. They aren’t out there as the next big thing and they are not out there to roll over and play dead. This is an exceedingly dangerous team on any given Sunday. They have a pretty good pass rush and that looks like the way to beat the Pats. Sit down, take a deep breath, but I’m picking the Atlanta Falcons to win on Sunday over the New England Patriots in Foxboro.
Norv Turner has got to be the next head coach fired. Fourth and Two with the world’s most dangerous defensive player on earth on the other side of the ball and what is Turner’s plan? Whatever it was, Ray Lewis, arguable the best player ever to be accused of murder, came right up the middle unblocked, untouched, and slammed into the ball carrier like the game was on the line. Oh, it was, Ravens win. Chargers lose. With the game on the line you call a play that loses the game plus two yards? Oh, but this just in from Turner…he claims the Chargers just aren’t as good as everyone thinks they are.
I would fire him for that alone.
Fashback to last season where all the Dallas Cowboys have to do to get into the playoffs is beat the Eagles. This is the last NFL game to ever be played at historic Cowboys Stadium, and the Dallas Faithful have all come to say good bye. They said good bye to the Cowboy’s hopes for the playoffs because the Eagles stomped the living hell out of them for sixty minutes.
Flashforward. The Cowboys come home to christen their new billion dollar home and half the Hall of Famers from Dallas are there, as well as a former president, and the NFL commish. Over one hundred thousand fans show up. Dallas loses the game in the last seconds to the Giants. Romo, who was not filmed cavorting in the surf with a blonde last week, has a less than stellar night. TO wasn’t there.
Sooner or later, people, you’re going to have to realize that Tony Romo cannot win an important game to save his life. Either that or they have a coaching problem. Or both.
Brett Farve will have to be carried from the field of play before he retires. He’s going out crippled when he does go, and that hurts me to think about it. But his team is 2-0.
San Francisco is 2-0. I’m telling you this is a team that is going to hurt feelings and destroy dreams this season.
The Bears are better than they were, but they aren’t as good as they are right now.
If the Panthers win against Dallas you’ll see the Cowboys miss the playoffs this year. If Carolina goes 0-3, their chances for a decent season end before October.
More later in the week, but damn, man, you’ve got to put a hat on Ray in that situation. It’s like when you were kids playing in the vacant lot, “Yo, Billy Bob, you block Ray because that mean SOB will come through here like he’s trying to kill somebody if you don’t.”
Fourth and two and you didn’t double team Ray Lewis?
DUDE! Fire Norv!
Take Care,
Mike

I don't understand. Do you mean they're circling the drain?
They are a better team, but they aren't good enough to beat someone like the Steelers each week
