Independents' Day - Chalk on the Walk

Independents' Day is a rather new street fair style collaborative of creative folk who get together to show off their talents. Local bands played, the Ohio Roller Girls raced, locally made films are shown, and artists created, sold, and invited others to join in designing projects. One of the events, Chalk on the Walk, invited people to decorate the street with graphics.

Those are marvelous. In some ways it's great to live in a college town.

The '90's? I think I'm going to cry now. No, the '80's are nostalgic; the '90's are recent... practically yesterday.

I still remember the 90's quite clearly. Are people in their twenties supposed to feel nostalgic? I thought that was saved until the late thirties?

There is an art school near downtown and a big university, but there are many artists and performers that are just here.

I know what you are saying Em Jay, just going to an art fair, festival, or museum leaves me with such an uplifted feeling, so positive. I think if people had more art, they'd be less cranky!
