My mom did a lot of work with them and enjoyed it a lot. Good organization, I wish the one here had the free books from birth-5 years program. (Imagination Library I think?? Dolly Parton is involved somehow..)

I'm a member of Civil Air Patrol. Its an auxilliary of the Air Force. There is a youth program that teaches kids about aerospace and the kids get to go up in single engine airplanes. We also do search and rescue and disaster relief.

we did the adopt a family at my high school. that was so much fun! picking out presents and having a wrapping party. every year i always go to the big xmas trees in walmart and grab a tag so i can buy a toy for a little kid. i love doing that and it makes me feel better.

i did key club in high school, too. donating cans and all of that stuff.

the last volunteer thing i did was at the petstore, helping to clean the cat cages and play with the cats every monday.

you can check with your local the salvation army they should have a christmas tree to pull a tag to get gifts for a child

we have a yearly christmas program and everything is donated
it is to help the poor to enjoy christmas better

Always. I can't remember when it started, but I was a volunteer tutor since second grade. I've volunteered for the local PBS stations every year, worked hard on campaigns for politicians I support been active in support of ecological causes, and everything I can do about cancer research, since cancer has been part of my life 9 times. I ran a crisis intervention center in college and grad school. I write press releases for many charitable organizations, and I work very hard at every organiation that seeks peace. Until I wrote this, I wondered why I'm always so busy! I also have several hours of work to take home every evening, since I teach high school English. No wonder I'm tired.

Over the years I volunteered for a little of everything. I've helped with the schools, the public library, the churches, the local charities for people and animals and the environment. Right now for health reasons it's hard to do anything more than 3 hours at a time, but I still try to volunteer every week.
