I had an emotional affair once with a male co-worker...although at the time I didn't see it for what it was. I did feel a lot of guilt about that...

I got divorced from my emotionally abusive, alcoholic, drug-taking husband. He told a bunch of lies about me and for some reason, everybody took his side. I was floored by it, but I must admit, he was a good liar. I felt guilty because I did what I thought was right (divorced him) versus what everybody else thought was right. I still think it was the right thing to do. I have spent my life doing things for other people and conforming to their ideas of me. That was the first time I stood up for myself, and I felt guilty about it.

Oh, I tried and tried... the problem was that I had kept quiet about the way he treated for years.... so everybody was shocked when I came out with the truth. It was a very hard time. Things are much better now though. I have a great husband now :-)

the thing I feel most guilty about is finding a wallet...I did try to turn it in at the campgrounds but no one was at the main house...then I had time to look in it...I seen $200 and kept it :(
There were money orders made out to pay rent....I did turn the wallet in when we got back home from camping so that they would have the money orders back.

This was many many many years ago, but the guilt is always going to stay with me.

My mom once found a wallet in a playground, with 80$ inside. she was broke and stole it... although there was a photo inside of a girl and her father, ... i still begrudge her for it!

I am the type of person that hates to hurt somebody, even unintentionally. I have had enough pain, of my own mistakes, and inflicted ones that I do not care to do that to anyone else.

Years ago when I was a kid I went to a playground with a friend. We were both around 10. She brought her niece who was real cute and about 2. I was swinging on the swing and she ran behind me. The wood swing hit her in the mouth. I was the youngest in my family so I had no idea she wouldn't know better. I sat on a bench and held her while she cried. My friend went to get her Aunt. I felt so bad that she got hurt and felt so guilty. She was bleeding from her mouth. Her mother yelled at me and I kept saying I was sorry. I hurt this poor sweet child and I wish I had saw her and stopped.

ahhhh.... of course you did. You poor thing!
What is good though is that you showed empathy when accidentally hurting a little one. In the field I work in, more often than not there is major lacking of empathy in my cases.
