Gone With The Wind/Get along with your Husband!

My mom gave me the DVD set and I couldn't even get through the first one. The acting was SO atrocious.

It was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =)

A lot of these actor's were trained in a theatrical philosophy. The movie, if you haven't noticed has a lot of scene opening script. Therefore it should just about explain itself in that manner. =)

I love Gone With The Wind.

Larry and I have a thing with movies too...
I do not mind the movies its just he keeps watching the same ones...
Even if I buy him new movies(old) he still watches the same old ones we had...

But this is one movie we do not have...

It is a must have! =)

I love Gone with the Wind, although it has been a while since I have seen it.

I have it on DVD - boy is it a hoot. I wrote about it, here, too. It was mostly a gather chat about race.

My favorite old war movie is Is Paris Burning? I don't like most of them.

They talk about Gone With the Wind in Hollywood Sinners, since the book takes place in 1939.

I don't know how anybody can get bored with it - it's such a super huge movie. There's always gorgeous things to look at !!!

And some very dated race stuff to make you go, "WTF" ??? !!!

and sometimes, "Eeeeek!"

And Scarlett is so very bad it's just fabulous !!!

Scarlett was Fab! Big Sam was too! =)

I liked Mammy. She gave her opinion without any reservations.

Hattie McDaniel was the actress and was the FIRST African American to win an Oscar....Sidney Poitier was the SECOND. (And I liked him a lot, too--a class act, all the way.)

Gone with the wind is my aunts favorite movie. I never got that into it.

The Cassandra Crossing was cool.

It's a great movie. I have a copy of it and it's the icon I use for my Gather group on southern things.

And a great Group it is!!! =)

It used to be broadcast in our area in the fall every year. From age eight until my mid-20s, I was there for it every single time. I saw it in a movie theater once, during a special engagement. After that, seeing it on the small screen just didn't compare. I did buy the Special Edition DVD set, however. Had to have it...though I've only watched it twice since I bought it (approx. 10 years ago).

I also admired the characters of Scarlett and Melanie...both extremely strong women in their own fashion, though they went about achieving their ends by totally different means; Melanie with her faith and Scarlett with her risk-taking and flouting of societal expectations.

And I've read the book, the original by Margaret Mead. While the movie is forever etched in my mind, the book really was much better.

I've actually never watched it.

Melanie "Olivia de Havilland" went up to N.D To help Grandma Arlene Saugstad with women's right's, so fourth. Olivia said to all of the lady's, "I am just like you, I have to sew, I have to cook, I have to do it all". She was wearing a black mink coat. It was ripped and badly in need of repair. I have seen Gone with the Wind four times. Evert time I notice some thing I didn't see before. I love that movie

Gone With The Wind was out when I was a young child. My friend's mother dropped my friend and me off at a kids movie (double feature) and went to see Gone With The Wind and then came back and got us. To this day I have never seen the movie and I am 61 years old! I am not sure I could sit still that long but maybe someday I will watch it. A movie has to REALLY grab my attention for me to be able to sit still long enough to watch it. I get bored quickly with most movies.

I watch GWTW at least once a year. Recently seeing Margaret Mitchell's grave site at Oakland Cemetery made me go home and watch the movie.

I love it but the end always makes me cry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can honestly say, I have seen it at least 100 times. My father took me to see it when I was a small girl. And I have loved it ever since. My sister Melanie B. was named after Melanie in the movie. So, it's like our family movie.

You should get the book, Rhett Butler's people. It is a good sequel to read.

I LOVE Gone With The Wind

ROFL! I LOVE Gone with the Wind and still want to get it on DVD. My 2 other all time fav are West Side STory and Singing in the Rain...oh and Chorus Line.

I have read the book twice and watched the movie a zillion and one times. LOL The book is different from the movie. In the book she had a lot more children than Bonnie. The sequel "Scarlett" is a good book that was made into a TV movie, but the Scarlett protrayed in it certainly isn't the Scarlett of Gone With The Wind fame. Somebody held a contest to see who could write the best follow up and the winning book was published and made into a movie. It's okay, but you have to view it as a separate movie from the real (LOL) Gone With The Wind. I wonder how our new special effects departments would film the movie today?

Great movie!

I actually watched it at one point in childhood (and was so disappointed - was played every year and my mom and dad watched it every time - I expected it to be more amazing). My movie like that is "The Princess Bride." I guess I'm a little more irreverent?

I also love "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Chocolat," and "Millenium Man." "Millenium Man" ALWAYS makes me cry, no matter how many times I see it.

I love it! I went for the first time when I was about 15 with my mom. I remember she sat and cried during it and I NEVER saw my mom cry! I have it on a VCR tape that I got years ago but haven't watched it in quite a while. I've seen it so many times over the years.

I have seen it a few times and have read it a few times. I enjoyed it so much when was a teen. Hubs would never watch this; he has a lot of trouble just understanding the contemporary chick things I say.

It was an impressive movie. It just struck me that with all the remakes Hollywood is doing now, that I'm surprised no one has suggested Gone with the Wind.
