In August we got together with our quadding friends and took a ride down the Doll Baby Ranch Road that begins at the end of main street in Payson, AZ. On our way, we noticed that our regular road now runs through a new community that is being built called the Canyon River Ranch. We knew that construction on the roads had begun but we had no idea there was already this much up.
The signs displayed pretty much tell the whole story. Wow, this is going to be quite the place, but I can't even imagine what it would cost to own property in one of these places. And since this is a gated community what will happen to our road that leads us to the Doll Baby Ranch and the creek near there? I guess I will have to investigate.
This is the base for the water tower. Man, that thing is huge! It's really going to be a pretty cool sight.
After we made our way through Canyon River Ranch property we headed on down past Doll Baby Ranch and found a section of the Verde River. The shade was nice and cool and the water was great.

This area is so beautiful but it's so hot in the summertime. We'll have to take another trip down when things cool off a bit.

Well you better find out what they are going to do with the road..maybe detour!! :D
South of us in Sonoita, they are trying to start another mine. Seems the US govt. gave AZ 10million or so acres of land when it became a state, and the state is supposed to sell if off to make money for "educational purposes." We'll have to see what Rell and Associates do before another Janet gets into the governor's chair. I think the citizens of Senoita are fighting this one in court.
