Attention all authors! Help the U.S. troops while promoting your book. Go to www.operationdesertswap.webs.com and read about this program.  You send your books to a serviceperson in the military.  They get the pleasure of reading it, and then they pass it on to another serviceperson.  Your book gets passed around, and you bring joy to someone stationed far away from home.  It's a win-win situation.

I won't personally be participating, since I write romance novels, which are not allowed in this program.  But if you write thrillers, mysteries, or another genre, I encourage you to participate.

I have been looking for this link for months. Thanks. Anyone who has a box full of advance reader's copies sitting in the garage should take advantage of this. What's happening today isn't these guy's (and gal's) fault. We need to do anything at all to raise moral and give an anchor to the real world.

Update: I was following up on your story for my network and foung out that the date had already passed to send books, but when I emailed them, the emailed me right back and said that they had extended the time until October 30, 2009 and they needed 11 more people. I thought you might want to update your article. It's such a great idea.

That's just a darned shame! Sexuality doesn't automatically just plain stop just because you've joined the military. Neither does romance for pete's sake! And Playboy actually does have stuff other than pics of naked women.

I bet soldiers would dig romance stories too.....It would be a great way to escape~~~~men and woman both would enjoy them it seems like.

I havent went to the article yet, so, will have to go check it out...I have a lot of books that I didnt write, but, wouldnt mind giving them to our hero's at all,,,,,reckon I should read the article now, thanks for the info~~~~
