Political Thriller.

Story line.

This story is an imagination of my workshop. Any person living or dead is purely coincidence. Read this story to know some of my views about national and international issues. Like any other ordinary person, I too have my own opinion about each issue. Story tells about a young man who was brought up with gandhiyan philosophy. Years later when he became youngest Prime Minister of India, at times he found gandhiyan philosophy does not work in favor his of country. Story tells us how he had to tackle such complex problems in his own ways…

I want close door meeting with Major to talk about cross boarder terrorism and few " people" wanted by Indian government .It was a long pending issue .I will start off with a low key and end with serving him ultimatum. I had received Major at airport with ceremonial welcome. In the morning, we talked about bilateral issues with other concerned ministers of both countries. I had arranged a sumptuous lunch in honor of him. After the lunch, I had invited major for a closed-door meeting. .

I…" how is life as a general in a democratic country?"

Major…" Do not ask me yaaaaar! (Friend) .I may be basking in the glory of media. But believe me it is a dog's life ".

I…" being a general you should have ruled your country with iron fist."

Major…" it is easier said than done. In your country, you have too many religions and cast but you are still able to manage communal harmony. In Pakistan, there is only one religion. (I wanted to add.” You can forget minority communities. (Hindus and christens). But too many sectarian violence in some part of our country."

I…" after the partition of India our people (Mujahedeens..Indian Muslims settled down in Pakistan) are still treated as second-class citizens. Why is that?"

Major…" that is not true. (He told me a convenient lie.) You got it wrong .we treat every citizen equally".

I…" Major you have a Kashmir like situations in Balugestan, Waziristan and tribal area bordering with Afghanistan. Your writ doesn't run over there..."

Major….' I may be wearing military uniform. But I can not rule my country with iron fist. There is more external pressure on me than internal pressure from my countryman. You know I my reputation in international market! Keeping these warring factions of different casts is taking my life out. Balugestan want autonomous power. Waziristan... area wants to follow tribal system (terrible system!. I mean Taliban system) .non of my ancestors was able to solve the problem. It is like a bleeding wound in Pakistan history…. Your are young and inexperienced. You need experience and diplomacy to rule the country. ".

I…'" I am still not clear…. . Do you follow democratic system or detector ship in your country "?

Major….'" For national issues I use democratic norms. On other issues if I find eye for an eye can solve the problems I use detector ship. . It is a dual role for me…".

I…." You mean no human right organizations in your country?"

Major…." They are not a force to reckon with…. They use print media and I control electronic media including our national net work. They are not able to make any impact on public .one woman. I forgot her name …she yell at our government now and then … (13)

one of the greatest advantage of my country is that even though there is only one major religion in our country there is hardly any unity among different sect. I don't middle in their 'internal' affaires .in fact I allow them to settle their own scores…. Divide and rule. Not by me but by different sect…"

I know given a chance he might take me through their history … I had to present our case to him and hear from him in clear terms…

I…" Major .I had given a list of people wanted by our government. Starting from Bombay blast .we are yet to hear from you. We even sent Interpol notice to trace out for one such person …Ibrahim. .".

Major…." I had repeatedly told over and over again that he is not in our country .he is in Dubai…"

I…." We had mopped entire Dubai for him .I had recently taken in charge of my office. Let me see how best I can solve this problem. It is only a matter of time before I solve the problem. What about the cross boarder terrorism from your country…"?.

Major…" I had already agreed to cooperate on any form of terrorism. National or international”

I…" still your people .ISI and banned terrorist organizations are carrying out terrorist attacks here. . You had better call them back. I am going to steam line our law and security force to deal with any eventuality…when will you dismantle terrorist camps from our boarding area…?"

Major…."There are no terrorist camps along the boarding area…"(he stoutly denied it) I had jokingly asked him.

I…" Ok Major …between you and me… I heard you made cool millions of U.S.D by sending innocent tribal people from boarding area (boarding with Afghanistan) .in the name of war on terror …five thousand dollars per head."

Major…'" nobody is going to do it for charity…. Now they all are after my blood."

I knew it is not out of love for money he had 'sold'. 'Terrorists' to U.S Government. U.S President might have tried any of these two things .arm twisting method or remind him of regime changes. Poor Major .he had no other choice)

I…." Major .our intelligence report says head of the LeT organization is responsible for killing my father. I want you to hand over the head of LeT organization for a fair trail in India. We do not have extradition treaty but within your capacity you can do it for me…".

Major…" there is flaw in your intelligence report. LeT is one of the biggest religious charity organizations in Pakistan. I can not antagonize them."

I…"well I had told you what I am looking for .you know my late father but not ME.. Political science I had studied for graduation is of no use for me. Officer training course and commando job will help me to get through …one last word…we have ideological differences but I have no enmity with you. I am looking to solve the problem amicably .I am here to co-operate with you as far terrorist problems are concerned. Believe me I will not have your blood on my hand …having survived to assassination attempt on you; you know your own people are after your blood. I am sure that they will take care of you. Ibrahim, Sheikh Abdullah…dismantling of terrorist camps…. Only three request…"

His face turned red. He shouted at me…

Major…." You are abusing your power…. You had invited me to give ultimatum. "?

I…"No. Not ultimatum. Simple request. Take your time and think about it…" he got up to go. I walked with him towards the door and reached for door handle…

I…" wear a smiling face." he tried to make a funny face. I said, "That is good. You are on the air…" I opened the door for him. We stepped in front of the TV crews .I allowed to speaking him first.

Major…." We had very constrictive dialogs….we reached agreement on certain issues…"he fumbled for words .one of the scribe asked him” Major could you please elaborate…" .He continued "O"…. Well. A joint mechanism to fight against terrorism…” He raised my hand with him. I was taken by surprise.

He adds…"we are partners in fighting war on terror.".

I thought this is what you call it diplomacy. I had issued ultimatum to him. A great show indeed. Naturally I had to talk few words on behalf of Major…

I….'" Major had assured me…" I smiled and looked at him; "That he will stop cross boarder terrorism .we are even planning to sign an extradition treaty to bring back normalcy in our relationship with Pakistan. …blaha…blaha ……" thank you …"
