With the dirt on ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) now public knowledge it will be interesting to see how long this criminal group can remain in operation. I understand the Senate wasted no time pulling the plug on the huge amount of taxpayer money the Obama administration was willing to send to their buddies at ACORN. That's one for the Senate and hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer money saved as well.

Too bad for ACORN that they hired bottom-of-the-barrel help. And although they fired those nitwits I suspect many more at ACORN will be either fired or simply put behind bars.

I would not count this group or its supporters out. That is the mistake the Dems made about their opposition, chiefly Repubs earlier this year. A series of blunders; in the form of quips and overreaching legislation has brought them back from a deserved grave. Making too merry and becoming over confident is a sign of hubris, that has cost the Dems plenty now and likely in the mid terms of 2010. I hope the Repubs and other opposition won't follow down that road so quickly.

One correction: it was Congress who pulled the plug on taxpayer money going to ACORN.. they are the ones holding the purse string.

Thanks folks for your input. I suspect this story will have legs for a long time to come. It just goes to show that when it comes to corruption no one has a monopoly.
