The following is a comment I left on an article about respect in a marriage. After leaving this comment I realized that there was another post I could have left this same message on.
So I decided to share it with everyone.
On every long term marriage /relationship I have ever known of, respect would be the first word I would use to describe them all. I am talking over 30 years and more. Their seems to be more of a warm comfortable burn than a hot flame of passion. A mutual caring and a true family like bond.
The biggest way my life mate can rock my world is simply by being there when I need him. That's respect and that's love.
I would like to add that rock my world passion isn't the only thing that makes a relationship. It feels great yes. But like a roller coaster ride after the thrill you may have to keep getting on for a different ride.
Respect starts with respect and without respect love is nothing.
This is of course in my humble opinion.
