STARGATE UNIVERSE
- Going Beyond the Known Universe -

Another time & another space. A new syfy roller coaster ride of visual effects, raw in your face scenes, with new faces & old faces.
Reported to be the hottest new show this fall Stargate Universe will replace Stargate Atlantis. Executive Producers Brad Wright & Robert Cooper are pleased with the success of the two original Stargate DTV movies including The Ark of Truth & Continuum as the new series in Stargate Universe comes to life with a 2 hour movie & then with hour long episodes to look forward to.
Stargate Universe opens with a star studded team of next gen Space Explorers who find an ancient hull of a spaceship abandoned & unmanned. Unable to return home, the ship called Destiny, launches this new team into pre-programmed missions that go beyond the known boundaries of the universe. As a team of scientists & military personnel discover this ancient vessel takes them from galaxy to galaxy, but has no way of returning them home to Earth.
Intricate stories send us into outer space with them all as we see our next space pilots become entangled with mysteries, relationships, & SyFi. This Stargate adventure, coming after 10 years of the original SG1 & 5 of the Atlantis series, is better than ever. SGU is SyFi's best of the best, holding a legacy in Science Fiction for all it viewers.
Here is a general baseline of the history behind SG1 & Stargate Atlantis:
- An advanced race a millennia ago - known as 'The Ancients' created a space network of portals that linked throughout the galaxy & into the next - known as Stargates.
- The Ancients ascended becoming etherial beings of pure intellect. They removed themselves from the material world & left the technology behind.
- Afterwards a race called the Goa'uld mastered most of the Ancients technology & set themselves up as gods wherever & whenever they could rule - including Earth.
- They we defeated on Earth in the times the Egyptians ruled.
- 1920's Earth discovered its first buried Stargate.
- 1990's began discovering how to activate the Stargates.
- Earth begins exploring our galaxy & our neighboring galaxy, fighting the Goa'uld & other Cosmic Identies as we continued to gain technology - all to protect the earth & the known Universe.
Still based on the fight between good & evil - good guys & bad guys - the drama will still be intense, entertaining, yet personal. If science fiction can be personal, you will see it in Stargate Universe! Mixed with great syfi tech & good storylines SGU episodes will show us more truth about ourselves & inner theories of who we want to be.
Guaranteed to take you beyond the norm & set its own coarse in the Stargate legacy.
The information on the shows I review is compiled through various tv, cable programming news & related info. I have taken an interest in reviewing network shows that not only do I enjoy week to week, but that hold an intent & purpose to help change the world that we live in for the good. It is all about being the change I want to see in the world - today! Thank you.

Then came Stargate Atlantis, and I was immediately a fan. The background of the overall story line was complex, but the stories weren't dependent on that complexity to make them interesting and engaging. The writing was 100% better than any of the other Stargate projects. The cast was actually talented. The characters were relatable and believable. Even though it was a science fiction action show, the stories were little stand-alone tales with a subtext of mindfulness and the finding of meaning. I was crushed when they stopped making new episodes.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the new show. The "SYFY" channel has been on a downhill slide for some time now, so they really need a quality original series... but I'm not at all sure they remember what one is much less how to make one.
Nonetheless, I agree with you about SyFy forgetting about how to make a good original series. "Battlestar Galactica" had to be one of the best TV shows of any type of all time, but "Warehouse 13" is dull as dishwater, and "Eureka", which started out so promisingly, has turned into little more than a soap opera with scifi pretensions.
I've got great hopes for "Universe". It has a great cast.
i really enjoyed atlantis, the writers bought the characters out really well. Some strange friendships were built but that is how life is.
I badly want this new series to be great.
Eureka- loved it originally, now i can tell the ending before we are 10 mins in normally. I think calling it a soap is a good description.
